Unplug the dryer and check the ignitor, the sensor and the thermal fuse located on the blower wheel housing, also if the dryer works correctly for the first 15 to 30 minutes then will not ignite again you have bad gas coils, also if the ignitor glows but flame doesn't lite most likely it's the coils, while your in there vac out the dryer, the duct where the lint filter slides into and if the vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower

Tumbles but does not dry

When you put your wet cloths in the dryer close the door. You should then turn on the dry cycle you wish, not the fluff option as there will be only air and gas dryer will not heat the cloths. Wait 30 ~ seconds after the dryer is turned on and listen for the gas to ignite and begin warming and drying the cloths. If you hear no bump sound like the ignition of the gas, then you have an ignition issue. It will require replacing the ignitor. All the best and good luck. Hope this helped.

Dryer blows cool, not hot, air

Clean the burner exhaust and intake vents of dust and lint. Make sure the gas is turned on to the machine. Watch the burner while trying to dry clothes--the igniter should turn red, then the main valve should open to start the burner. If the plate turns red, but no fire, the control valve assembly may need to be replaced. Is the unit under warranty? If so, you may need to take advantage. Hope this helps!

replace the gas valve coils. they sit right on top of the gas valve. they are black and round, and clide down over a shaft. remove screw from plate holding them, and slide them up and off, replace, and it will run....turn gas off while working on unit:)

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.
