    try other end

I was able to open mine without scratching or damaging the case by clamping ordinary pliers, slipped to the wide-mouth setting, and an old leather glove. The pliers didn't cut the glove, and the glove didn't scratch the flashlight.

I have a 3AA LED mini maglite with stuck batteries. The best I can tell they have not leaked. I tried freezing the unit as well as heating the barrel to no avail. Is there a way of removing the bulb...

well, I have a 3 cell mini maglite AA with a corroded battery stuck up next to the LED. I have searched but not found a way to remove the LED to push out the battery with a dowel. The best solution I read about was to drill a hole in the battery and insert a large screw and pull it all out.
(My Maglite is from 2009 or 2010, but I think they made this model in 2011, 2012 and 2013- this is for SEO!)

I have a mini maglite - and I cannot remove the batteries. For the price, these certainly can't be disposable lights! Only the narrow end of the light can be removed, the bulb end does not enable you to...

Try tapping the base of the torch gently on a table, this may dislodge the batteries . Possibly the batteries leaked and corroded and became wedged in the torch ?

Battery case does not open

make sures its being turned to the left, and if it will not come off, wrap duct tape around it to protect it and use large vice grips or pliers to get it off. Vice grips would be better as the lock but dont' lock them down too tight as you can dent the cap.

Corroded batteries stuck in a mini AA maglite

yes the bulb assy can be removed as it's basically the switch you need like a special tool for removing it. but first which brand of battery is in it. both energizer and Duracell have warranty about replacing item that the battery has damaged. try that route is my suggestion before trying to remove batteries and possibly breaking the switch. you can get one sent to you by calling up customer service as i replaced one before mini mag lite also.
