My Fossil FS4283 had been working fine since the time I bought it in 1997. It stopped working suddenly a couple of days ago and no matter what I do doesn't start back. It doesn't have a battery and charges itself by hand motion. It has a key that can be turned clockwise continuously to charge the watch. But inspite using the key for more than 5 hours I am not able to see any motion in the watch again. Highly appreciate your help.

My Fossil Hybrid watch has just stopped. The battery is only three months old. Also it has failed to synch for a week or two now but the date updates

Did you change the battery 3 months ago? Wrong type perhaps?

Was the watch bought new with the battery? Watch in storage and display for 9 months, you had 3 months, time for battery change.

Fossil twist

If you do not wind the watch, and if it is electronic it obviously has a battery. Very possible even with a new watch the battery has run out. This is especially if the watch was sitting for about a year in their inventory before you bought it.

I am not sure if your watch has a kinetic type movement where it charges the watch, or it is purely an electro-mechanical type movement. I did read it has a quartz referenced movement for the mechanical balance wheel. This would certainly involved a battery. If changing the battery is not the fix you would have to send the watch for service.

Why would this watch loose time and have to be reset???..........repeatedly.

I had the same problem sometime ago but with a fossil. I had the battery replaced several times in the matter of a couple of months. It seemed to have happened during the very cold months. I also found that I put my watch in the same pocket I put my Iphone in too. I'm not sure if there was a relevance but after I stopped, the watch seemed to fix itself.
