When the pump is on there is water leaking at the motor shaft between the Impeller and pump. What could be causing this?

Shaft seals are failing.
You will have to take the wet-end(pump) apart to replace them. Take note of motor shaft size. Gecko/AquaFlo Flowmaster XP2 has 5/8" shaft.
Get some here, or use the shaft seal guide on that same page.

The shaft seal is bad. That should use a PS-200 seal.

Water pump breakdown for bissel crosswave

The water pump in a Bissell CrossWave is a vital component that is responsible for pumping water from the tank and through the cleaning brushes. If the water pump is not functioning properly, it can cause the CrossWave to perform poorly or not work at all. Here is a breakdown of the parts that make up the water pump in a Bissell CrossWave:
  1. Motor: The motor is responsible for driving the pump and is typically a small, electric motor.
  2. Impeller: The impeller is a small, rotating blade that is attached to the motor shaft. It helps to move water through the pump by creating a suction effect.
  3. Housing: The housing is a container that encloses the motor and impeller. It is typically made of plastic and is sealed to prevent water from leaking out.
  4. Inlet and outlet ports: The inlet and outlet ports are openings in the housing through which water enters and exits the pump.
  5. Seals: Seals are used to prevent water from leaking out of the pump and are typically made of rubber or a similar material.
  6. Gasket: The gasket is a flat, circular piece of material that is used to seal the housing to the body of the CrossWave.
If any of these parts are damaged or not functioning properly, it can cause the water pump to break down and may require repair or replacement. I recommend contacting Bissell or a professional repair service for assistance if you are experiencing issues with the water pump on your CrossWave.

How to replace pump seal on hot tub with emerson 1081 motor and gasket replacement on 2 inch

Emerson is the motor manufacturer. 1081 is the swimming pool duty motor designation. In other words all pool pump motor manufacturers have a 1081 motor. The mechanical shaft seal is going to be a part of the actual Pool pump itself. The seal is between the seal plate and the impeller. If motor is extremely noisy, then the leak allowed water to get into bearings and cause damage. If the motor is really noisy, or the shaft doesnt spin freely, then you may have damaged motor bearings. The pump manufacturer can usually be identified by markings on parts of pump ( in front of motor ).

Can't get irrigation pump to pump water.

Pump turning slow because of a bad bearing, stuck starter switch, bad shaft seal, or bad motor winding will cause loss of flow.
ANY leak in the suction including the shaft seal will cause flow loss.
Plugged impeller will cause loss of flow.
Plugged discharge (inside the case) will cause loss of flow.

Good luck

STA-RITE 5P2R-125G with 0.75 HP motor. Had bearings in motor replaced and was advised that shaft seal is also replaced. Now have a leak from the motor side of the seal plate at the bottom. They replaced...

the absence of the copper cone will not cause a leak, however, there is a different shaft seal that needs to be used in lieu not having the copper cone installed.

If the impeller is damaged or cracked, that can cause a leak at the shaft seal. If you replace the impeller, the shaft seal will most likely need to be replaced as well.

Water coming out down by motor , pump is pumping but leaking. how do you get impeller off

sounds like a shaft seal leak..... cut power to pump ... unbolt the motor at the seal plate and pull motor from pump... take electrical cover off back of pump and hold the shaft at the middle (may have to do some digging to find it) of the back of the pump... now youll be able to remove the impeller by spinning it counter clockwise...
make sure you dont go cheap on the seals... and make certain to replace all seals on pump
(diffuser oring, housing gasket, shaft seals, and lid gasket

I turned my starite pump on and it just hummed for about 5 seconds then cut off. What could be wrong?

Your pump motor or impeller is seized. Disassemble the pump housing and check the impeller to see if it spins freely. If not then check for debris, if impeller appears to be free of debris, then check the shaft seal and motor. If the shaft seal is leaking water, then the motor bearing is likely rusted and will need to be replaced. There are 2 bearings, replace them both along with the shaft seal

Water pump doesn't work but there is no water leak it can be just a sensor problem?

No, but it could be the impeller inside the water pump, has come loose from the impeller shaft.

A leaking seal indicates that the bearing, or bearings, for the impeller shaft are bad.

I have replaced water pumps, (With a brand new one), and have had to remove it, and reinstall with another one.
Why?
Impeller is spinning around on the impeller shaft. The machining done was a bad job, and the impeller wasn't staked to the impeller shaft.

Impeller rotates, seems to work well, o-rings appear to be OK, but pump will not draw water through the pump

this usually indicates an air leak in the plumbing. it will **** air because it is easier than water if there is a leak in the plumbing.
good luck David

Lg dishwasher lds 5811st E1 error code

Hi Chaz,

The impeller breaks on the motor shaft. The motor still turns, but the impeller doesn't, so it doesn't pump water. Because the machine senses there is no water pressure from the pump, it shuts down & displays E1 (it thinks there's a water leak, due to no pressure)
Unfortunately the motor/impeller is only available as a complete assembly

Hope this helps
