Before you spend the money to replace the Maytag circuit board, call their customer service number (at the bottom of this post) and explain that your control panel is blinking, your ice dispenser trap door is opening and closing, and you want them to help. They are paying for this problem apparently even for out of warranty refrigerators. They will send the replacement and schedule a repairman to come. I didn't know this until after I bought the circuit board for almost $200. The refrigerator was not cooling properly and I didn't want hundreds of dollars of food to spoil so I got the part. The circuit board is easy to replace. UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE YOU DO THIS. On the back of the unit about halfway up on the left as you face the back is a square silver panel with four screws. Remove the screws and you will see a circuit board behind a plastic cover. Look for the groove on the right side of the cover, put your finger in and pull gently and it will open like a door. The circuit board is held in with two plastic snaps on top and bottom. Push the top one up and the bottom one down, gently, and pull the left side of the board out - gently/gently. It is held to the right side of the small compartment with plastic sticky-outy things that do not move so be careful not to damage the board. Replacing it then involves simply putting the contacts from the old board in the same places on the new board. They are pulled off the old circuit board by depressing the little snaps on each one and then pulling out - gently. Reverse the order as you put it all back in. When you have put the new board in, plug the refrigerator in and then you will see PE0 000 appearing on your display. This means you have to reprogram the unit. Here are instructions for reprogramming I copied from others who have posted on this problem. NOTE: THE REFRIGERATOR DOOR HAS TO BE OPEN IN ORDER FOR THE PROGRAMMING TO WORK. WITH THANKS TO THE DUDE WHO ORIGINALLY POSTED THIS - I DON'T REMEMBER HIS NAME. The code to input is found on the unit serial number and model number sticker on the inside of the unit. You will find "CODE" followed by numbers. Those numbers are your code. Programming Mode: 1.Press and hold the Door Alarm Keypad. 2.Press and hold Freezer Temperature Down Keypad. 3.Release the Door Alarm Keypad and wait 3 seconds. 4.The control will display PE to indicate the programming mode. 5.Entry is confirmed by pressing the Freezer Temperature Down Keypad - once more. 6.The control will display the current Program CODE.The value should be validated with the Program CODE printed on the unit serial plate. 7.Press the Refrig Temp Up Keypad or Refrig Temp down Keypad to change the digit value with each key press. 8.The decimal point indicates the selected digit. Press the Freezer Temp Up keypad to select the next digit. 9.Once the desired Program CODE is displayed, press and hold the Freezer Temp DOWN keypad until the Program CODE begins flashing indicating it has been saved. Then shut the door and your display should be normal. Good luck. Try Maytag first before you spend any money. If you are even slightly handy, once the new board arrives, you can put it in and not wait for a repairman. I consider this important to save food that may spoil otherwise while waiting for a service rep to show up. My name is peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

What are you doing. You replace a control board and wasted your money.

Send me model number, which is located on the inside liner panel of your fresh food section on a label.

Please do not spend any more money guessing.

Why is my sony floor model has no power?

Fault with the main power supply regulator board.
Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis.

Display does not light up at all

If the 120VAC wahser service outlet has power and the machine LED Control Console for the FAV6800AW or LCD screen for the FAV9800AW appeares to have no power then I feel you have a Control Board failure. If you post your model number we can give you and aproxmate cost of the Control Board. The Control Board is under warranty for 5 yr. If you call Maytag customer service at 1-800-688-9900 they will need your Model Number and Serial number located on the rear top right of the console.

The above machine types do not have an internal fuse or circuit breaker to check.

Simple won't start. It was fine yesterday. Today

Hello sunny5139

Good checks! So the 120VAC outlet has power verified. Do you have any LED's lit on your FAV6800AW/FAV9800AW. There are no internal fuses in this machine model. If you are the DIY type I would check 120VAC input thru the line filter to the mian connections on the Control Board. If that checked out OK I would check +12VDC on the Control Board. If you can’t DIY those checks I would recommend the same solution as my last post a few minutes ago…..

This could be a Control Board failure and this where I would start. I would try to recycle 120VAC power to the washer and see if that will restore operation. If that doesn’t clear the issue then I believe your Control Board has failed. Do you have surge protection at the washer 120VAC outlet? Have you had any recent electrical storm activity? The Service Manual can be found on this site follow the link I’m attaching. The Control Board is under warranty for 5 yrs from date of purchase. I got Maytag to send me a Control Board, I passed their owner technical savvy test. If you are the original owner, call Maytag customer service at 1-800-462-9824 www.maytag.com. They will ask you for your serial number that is found on the top right back side of the console. They will give you a number to call for authorized Maytag repair. I would insist that the repair service to bring out a Control Board on the first visit. The p/n 25001217 for all FAV6800 series.
