It seems the display of your phone is gone bad. You would have to replace the Display of the phone from a Nokia authorised service center or from a local phone repairer.

Warning: Do not enter any wrong unlock unlock codes on your Nokia 2610 mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.

1 - Switch on your Nokia 2610 mobile phone without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia 2610 mobile phone.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia 2610 mobile phone would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!

The letter p appears if you press the button star(*) three times quickly
The letter w appears if you press the button star(*) four times quickly
The symbol + appears if you press the button star(*) two times quickly
The CODE you need to enter is the unique unlock code for your Nokia 2610 mobile phone

try removing the battery for 30 seconds, put it back and switch it on, sometimes it resets the phone good luck

You need to Select Menu > Settings > Phone > Language settings > Phone language to set the display language of your phone.

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.

You can format the phone by doing the following: Turn phone off. 
Press and hold *, 3, Talk. 
While still holding those buttons turn on phone. 
Continue to hold until phone displays formatting... 


thats to format it but am not sure it will reset the code. i have also heard you can do it via cable which you dont have.
