How to wind string around the bobbin

It's annoying I know, but there should be a little notch in the spool, wind the string evenly round one groove. notch it, then do the same on the other groove but in the opposite direction. Hope this helps.

When I had this problem I replaced that ratchet toggle part that the string drum sits over. Do you use replacement refills or do you refill them yourself. If you wind the string in the wrong direction it all affect the auto feed.

Did you re-string it? If you did it is possible that you crossed the string over itself and it is stuck. Check that and good luck...Lee

Check in your area to see if you have a Dewalt tool store in your area. They may have what you need to order parts for this unit.

Make sure to look at the spool. There should be an arrow showing which way to wind the string...Good luck...Lee

The push lock on the string feeder Is sticking. Pull it off, clean it out and put it back on.
