We own an Akai lct3201td television and the screen does no longer turn on when we press the 'on' button. the television used to work just fine, but now when we turn it on the screen stays dark. The red button still turns green however, the screen doesn't light up. Also, every time we turned on the television for the past few weeks, it makes a sound as if it's spinning something. Note: there are no disks inside the tv.The sound isn't really quiet, however nor is it really loud. But you can definitely hear it from the other side of the room.

The tv remote that came with the tv unit. The tv remote might have channels buttons up/down buttons functions and numbers pads might be shorted and dead and no longer functions anymore.U have a Digital Camera turn it on take the tv rmote put in the front of the Digital Camera pushes each buttons one by one all the buttons that work u will able to see a flashing white light on the camera vewing screen, because the Digital Camera can read INFERED input signal to see a output u see on the the camera viewing screen. After u test it on the front of a Digital Camera any buttons don't have a white light flashes INFERED read out than those buttons functions are shorted and dead.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to replace and used.

AKAI LCT3201TD

Is sounds more like a button got stuck or you could have a main board failure since the TV is powering up normal; but it could also be a power supply not providing the proper voltages to the main board circuitry and the microprcessor does not know what to do.

Powers on, screen flashes Akai screensaver and then shuts off

Take the unit into the service center - have the service center diagnosed the problem - they will order the part - but the parts are not available - DONT WAIT - The manufacturer must exchanged the unit because the the manufacturer must provide the parts for up to 5 years by law after the the tv is manufactured. Have the service center provide you with a workorder stating the television is not repairable because the parts are not available - then call 800-726-4405 - they will start hte process to exchange the televsion - LONG PROCESS to get an exchanged television

Audio Output Problem

Select DVD Input source, then press the Setup button on the remote (it's under the DVD control block near Subtitle). Go to the Speaker Setup Page and select LT/RT or Stereo. After I set it up it seems to work for other Input modes also. I have the 27" model.
