Try reinstalling the keyboard model drivers. If they are still not working, there may be a break in the wire. If you are using wireless, replace the batteries with some alkaline batteries.

Some of the keys on my keyboard(aspire one netbook 8.9 ) will not work unless i depress the fn button. how do i de-activate it?

You accidentally set your netbook's NumLk on. The NumLk indicator is the third LED from the left at the top left of keyboard (on top of the housing for the battery). It is in between the disk activity LED and the caps lock LED. You can also confirm NumLk is on by starting the Notepad or Wordpad applications and pressing the following keys U I O P and J K L which will result in 4 5 6 * and 1 2 3
To regain normal (non keypad) operation of your keyboard, hold down the Fn key (2nd key from the left at the bottom - right beside the Ctrl key) and press F11 momentarily. This should turn off the NumLk LED

I am using an external keyboard(lx710 corless) for my toshiba satellite m 3/5 laptop. When i remove the usb from my laptop and want to roam in my house using only the laptop, I have to restore the settings...

Generall there is a Fn Key somewhere, down by the Shift-CTRL-ALT Keys, or perhaps holding down the shift key, and tapping the required key will access the "Other" funtions of the keys.

F keys suddenly not working

The "F mode" button toggles on and off the F keys. If you press it (accidentally) as I did, the keys will no longer function.

Simply press the "F mode" key again (it is directly above the "End->" key between F12 and Insert on this model keyboard) and functionality will be restored.

Need code # for rca tv

If your remote control has a search button, this is how you do it-------- User submitted information for the SystemLink 3: To clear things up and make it simple, here is how to program the RCA Systemlink 3 remote:
****WITH DEVICE TURNED ON****
  1. Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the LED lights, then release. LED will stay light.
  2. Press and release the device key to be programmed. LED will go off when button is pressed and back on when released. LED remains on.
  3. Press and release the remote On/Off (power) button as many times as required to turn your device OFF.
  4. When device turns OFF, press and release the ENTER button.
Test remote on device, if ALL functions do not work, repeat above procedure.
***IMPORTANT NOTE*** Count how many times you press the On/Off button. If ALL funtions do not work and you need to repeat, you don't want to stop at the same non-working code. For instance, if it takes 23 times to turn your device off and after testing, the remote does not control all functions, repeat steps 1-3 BUT when the device turns off at the 23rd time, turn it back on using the power button ON THE ACTUAL DEVICE then continue with step 3 and 4 from above.

Keyboard beep

Isolate the issue first. If your using an external keyboard, remove it and test if you still experience it. If not, then there could be a stuck key on your external keyboard.
If yes, then there could be a stuck key on the laptops keyboard.

If there is a stuck key, try to check the buttons on the KB then contact Toshiba to avail of your warranty for the repair.

Hope this helps.
