It displays the current day and time

  • eleanor1958 Jul 01, 2010

Have checked as suggested, with phone off hook, Line 1 says "Line004" Lin2 "pick up denied" Line 3 "83495285" (which is my direct line???) Line 4 Paging SPKR (which is in line with some of the other phones)
With phone on the hook, it says Line 1 "Line Pool A" 2 "Group pickup" 3 "Last no. redial" On other phones it says Line 1 "101BCS" 2 "101BCS" and 105 5285(which is a direct line extn no.) or similar for other phones in system

It could be a simple as the phone has call forwarding to another extension set up on it or the direct line could also be programmed on the other set. Does the screen on the non- ringing m7208 display "forward to:xxx" or does it display the current day and time?

Were going to have to find out the line number (in the phone system) to figure out where the programming has been changed. At the non-ringing set, press feature *0 then press the line that should be ringing. The display will say Lxxx:and the line name.

Check Forward Busy under Capabilities in programming, any phone that has lines ringing this setting should be set to NONE.
Also make sure line 3 is assigned to ring at those phones.

If unsure of programming the phone system or password call your local tech to come in.

NorStar M7208 - How to remove global ringing?

This is tech side of programming and not Admin, if you don't know config password or how to program then call a tech.
If you do know then:
First find out what line #, do F*0 then press the button and note the full number on the display.
i.e. Line 5 in programming is Line 005, 025 or 031 depending on software version.

Sets/LineAccess/LineAssignment/Show line ***/Change to Appear Only or Not Assigned.

Dial "F * 0" (Feature, star, zero), which is Button Inquiry, and press an intercom button to see the extension number of the telephone. If Set Relocation is set to "Yes", then the extension number & mailbox will follow the phone when it is moved. Move only two phones at a time, and wait until they completely "boot-up" before moving additional phones.
Hope this helps.

In my workplace, when you move the Nortel M7100 phone, the programmed info (extension number, etc) moves along, just like if I was rewiring all phones. How do you page with a Meridian Norstar M7208 phone?

There is another page, acting more like a directed intercom page...

If you want to talk to someone and you know where they are (general area) you can do a FEATURE 6 6 and the extension number.

This is a direct page and when you page this way, that person can respond back and you can hear them.
