On printer error cod 6A00 displayed, on computer screen icon says service error 5C10. Have cleaned ink wells and wiped off excess ink. After cleaning far right side a long skinny black piece came out,...

Hi

Error 5C10 means a paper jam or the printer has encountered an internal error. And error 6A00 is caused due a paper jam in the sheet feed unit or near the print head. You can also reset the printer to resolve this issue. On the printer press and hold the ON/OFF button or unplug the power cord. Wait for 10 seconds, press power button ON/OFF button again. If this doesn't resolve the error code then unplug the printer for 10 minutes. Also, inspect the back panel of the printer for any paper jams. To clear the paper jams---

Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable. Remove the jammed paper slowly using the following procedure. Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed. Pull out the cassette and check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area. Stand the printer with the rear side down, holding the document cover. Press the tabs together and pull the green cover toward you. Check if the paper is jammed. (If you were not doing Duplex printing, you do not have to follow this procedure.) Close the green cover and place the printer back to a normal position. Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer. Confirm the Alarm light is off. Load paper back into the ASF or cassette. Press to clear the message and continue printing. If you are printing from application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The alarm light is on and the printer is flashing error 03. Other info has indicated this means there is a paper jam but there is no paper in the printer. Not sure how to get the printer working again. Any...

Hi:
First try unpluging the unit from the Ac outlet and waiting for at least 5 minutes, then reapply power this usually will reset the printer. If problem persists then try using some canned air to blow out the printer ports. If it still says paper jam after the previous then you may have a bad paper sensor.

Printer says clear paper jam then press reset

Could there possibly be:

A) Paper jammed internally: Power Off. Open the cover and remove the paper or scrap carefully. Do not touch the internal printer parts. Close the cover. Power on.

B) Foreign objects in printer: Power Off. Open the paper support and confirm that there is no foreign material in the auto sheet feeder. (If so, remove it by hand or with tweezers). Open the front cover and confirm that there is no foreign material in the unit. Avoid touching the inner workings of the machine.

C) Reset the printer:

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button

2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer

3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in. Attach data cable.

4. Turn the printer back on.

If all of these suggestions fail, your iP1600 may require repair service. Please note: With the suggested retail price of $29.99 USD, repair does not seem cost effective - you could just go out and purchase a new printer.

Paper jam message but no jam seen. Have unplugged from computer and wall. Shut off x 20 minutes. Alarm light shuts off momentarily and then reappears with first printed page.

Paper can be jammed internally.

1) Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable.
2) Open the rear cover. Look for a jam or even little scraps of paper from a previous jam that may be obstructing the paper path.
3) On the front, remove the tray and look into this area. Make sure it is free of any obstructions.
4) Replace tray.
5) Reconnect the USB cable. Power ON.

I hope this helps!

I had a paper jam and cleared it. Now the power light and paperfeed light are on and won't go off. I cannot print nor turn off the printer via the buttons. I have reinstalled drivers, opened the back panel...

What precisely IS the error message? In lieu of this information, unplug the printer. Check the paper path thoroughly including between rollers. Any tiny fragment will jam. Use a falshlight and magnifier if you must. Load with normal thickness printer paper. Plug the unit in. Hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Test page should print.

Error message about a paper jam won't clear. There is no paper jam.

Unplug the power cord and data cable for a few minutes, then turn it back on. If that doesn't work, open every door, remove all paper and make sure there are no other obstructions (I once found a twist-tie in mine, so you never know).

Paper jam that isn't

You could try a partial reset of the printer
Unplug the power cord
Reconnect power cord
When lights are flashing, press & hold On/Resume and PaperSize buttons
When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release both buttons
When On/Resume light is steady, reset is completed

Rec paper jam message.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavypaper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the printbutton applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so itwill feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases Ihave been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited thereover time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers thisway, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud
