My Cuisinart DCC 2200 brews coffee and then the heating element goes off and doesn't keep the coffee warm

The DCC-1200 has only one element, that both heats the water for brewing and keeps the carafe warm. If you're brewing coffee then the element is fine and the suspect part is the Thermistor. Another forum suggested this was a Vishnay NTCLG100E22245B, available from DigiKey (their part # BC2467), connected to the control board with thin yellow wires. The same forum suggested that this thermistor should test at 220K ohms at room temperature, dropping to 20K at about 220F.

Time to buy new one the elements out...

Check the thermostat first, then the heater.

The best way to do it is with a volt meter.

Are there any loose wire connections?

If you don't have a volt meter or you don't know how to, get somebody that knows
ALWAYS unplug brewer or be careful when dealing with electricity.

mcdevito75, Unit coild be burned out from power surge, Test at a known good electric outlet. If burned out replace your coffee maker.

Well the procedure to set the auto button off would be as follows. First set to 0 so it shut off as soon as it started brewing. Once the switch is turned to auto off, then when the numbers are blinking hit the hour button until you get the desired hours you want the heating element to stay on. If this does not keep the coffee warm then most likely you have a heating element down and will need to replace it. Please let me know if this does not help else please accept it.

Do you turn off the pot before you refill the reservoir to brew the second pot? The heating element should not have anything to do with triggering the second pot. Turn off the coffee maker, change/refill the coffee, refill the reservoir and turn the pot back on. This works on my Cuisinart.

Bad heating element. Call the manufacture and order a new one

Using the 1-4 cup setting will help, but that model does not have an actual heating element in the plate - definitely not the right model for someone who likes very hot coffee.

Turn the function knob to Auto Off
Hold down the hour button til you see the clock display blinking
you can then use the Hour and Minute buttons to program how long you want the coffee maker to stay on.
You can choose from 0 minutes (seems to be what you have it set on now) to 4 hours.
