Changing the time on a Nortel networks phone

I found the feature button. I don't see a time button.
The feature button is the same as the direct to voice mail button. I tried
Feature ** and hit the show time button - it displays the current time with out the ability to change it. This is not a Norstar phone. The pull out directory says I need a code. what is the code to change the time.

Thank you for this reply. I found the feature button. I push it then push ** (I don't know where the time button is) There is a button that says show time and when I push it - it clears the feature ** and displays the incorrect time.

I thought you would figure it out...

        Press FEATURE (Your feature
button may look like a globe with a ring around it). "Feature:"
will be displayed on the LCD.

        Press * * 8 4 6 3 (If
"invalid feature code" or another error message is displayed, you will
not be able to use this programming method. Skip down to method
        #2, below).

        "Password:" will be
        displayed on the LCD.

        Press 2 2 7 4 2
-- If "Hour:01" is displayed on the LCD, skip to step 6.

        If "RETRY" is displayed on
        the LCD, press 2 3 6 4 6

        Press the CHANGE softkey
        button underneath the LCD window.

        Using the keypad, enter in
the hour, using two digits. Example: 2 PM would be 02

        The LCD changes and shows
AM. If you need AM, press the OK softkey. If you need PM,
press the CHANGE softkey and then press OK.

        Press the NEXT softkey under
        the LCD window.

        "Minutes:00" is displayed on
        the LCD window.

        Press the CHANGE softkey,
then using the keypad, enter the minutes.

If you are only changing the
time and not the date, press RLS button (your RLS button may look like a
telephone handset with a down arrow under it)

If you need to change the
        time, press the NEXT softkey.

        "Year:00" is displayed.
        Press the CHANGE softkey.

        Using the keypad, enter the
two digit year. Then press the NEXT softkey.

        "Month:01" is displayed.
        Press the CHANGE softkey.

        Using the keypad, enter the
two digit month. Then press the NEXT softkey.

        "Day:01" is displayed.
        Press the CHANGE softkey.

        Using the keypad, enter the
        day.

        You're finished. Press
RLS button (your RLS button may look like a telephone handset with a
        down arrow under it)

        "End of Session" is
        displayed on the LCD window.

The system gets the time from the CallerID - if the line has that feature and you have a caller-ID-capable line card. If not you must set it locally. Feature**time or Feature**config then follow the menus, depending on the software version you have.

If you are on a Nortel PBX you cannot change the time on the phone. It is actually getting the time from the phone system. You know if this is the case because all phones show the same time. An administrator will have to adjust that in the system. Contact your administrator or whoever services your phone. This can usually be adjusted remotely, they may not even have to come to your office.

The top specified that this is not a norstar phone. The pbx does not use set programming so the feature ** is not an option.

How to I turn the universal volume on a Norton Networks T7316E Phone?

Have you tried to call the phone and adjust the volume on the set while the call is coming in? I think the only way you can adjust the ringer volume is if the phone is ringing.

How do you transfer a call on a Nortel t7208?

This is usually programmed as one of the 'soft' buttons down the right hand side of the device - subject to the programming of your phone / and the system.

Usually the T7208 is connected to the BCM range of PBX systems - in which case, to transfer a call, you'd use Feature 70. You could, of course, program this into one of the buttons yourself, so you only have to press one button to do so.

Hope this is of use to you. :)

New phone - plug in, know what the extension is, how do I know what the direct line is?

If you want to know the extensions number of your phone of any information about the programed feature on any button you just click on feature (button with nortel logo) then * then 0 then the button and it will give the information about the button. For extension you should use the intercom button which is normally last button on the buttom of your rigth hand side.

Need to reset the time on a client's nortel phone.

It depends on which Nortel System your client uses, and which level of software they have in the system. You can try "Feature * * T I M E" (Feature, star, star, 8 4 6 3). If that doesn't work, we'll need more info about the system. Good Luck!
