First off, if you don't have a water softener supplying the tankless you have voided your warranty; it's in the fine print. The mineral deposits build up and clog the heat exchanger; that may not be the problem because you're not having water pressure issues. Furthermore, you don't need the control unit for the tankless to operate; remove the control unit and unplug / shut off the breaker for atleast 3 minutes. Turn the power back on and see if that resets the unit; this may get your hot water back until you can determine the error code. I will look up the Rinnai error codes tomorrow and get back to you on this since my experience with Rinnai products is limited.

Flashing code 76 is lost communication between the remote and the burner control assembly CCA (circuit card assembly). The CCA is still under warranty if purchased within the last 3 yrs. Contact Rheem customer service and have your Mod. and S/N available....explain to the agent you are recieving - flashing code 76...they'll walk you through the process.

Hi stevenandarl,
Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support; tell them the code you are displaying. Rheem will send you instructions via email if you feel you can perform this operation yourself. Or they will recommend a professional in your area to help you.
