Looking at the user guide it appears that the amp has a standby mode.
See not below on turning standby on. Question can you see the standby light flashing.
I would also suggest using function on the amp to remove any possible issues with the remote.
One would expect the system to return to normal operation by pressing the power button again. If not what do you see on the display.
Note:
Press 1 to turn on the receiver. You can also turn on the receiver using 1 on the remote control. When you turn off the receiver, press 1 again. "STANDBY" flashes on the display panel. Do not disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) while "STANDBY" is flashing. This may cause a malfunction.
Providing you also ran a ground direct from battery, you need a trigger wire from stereo i usually run off power antenna wire. Some stereos have a seperate amp or trigger wire already coming out you just need to run it to amp.
The my book world has 3 different kinds of flashes.
1. Fast flashing (every 3 seconds) - Which means it's going into standby mode.
2. Slow flashing (every 5 seconds) - Which means it's in standby mode.
3. Alternative flashing between inner and outer ring - Means RAID failure (this only applies if you have the RAID compatible version [dual drive my book world])
4. Simultaneous flashing - Means the drive is overheating and the drive needs to be shut down.
Try resetting the drive, using the link below for guidance (this will not effect your data). If the drive does power-up, you will need to change the IP to static, if you had it that way before and you will need to login with the following login details: Username: admin | Password: 123456
Just put mine up & it did the same thing. Unplug power. Have remote handy & paperclip. Find reset hole behind remote. Plug in power, red light will flash, hold reset button in until unit stops flashing. Make sure remote is also powered on. Thats it.
1 - Check the battery contact and make sure the batteries in the flash are good.
2 - check the plug for the turbo, make sure it is not damaged, as well as, the high voltage plug on the 580 flash. If those contacts look dirty or mushroom shaped, you will nee the flash repaired.
3 - obviously make sure the turbo is charged
disconnect all of the speaker wires at the amp and turn your system on -if the amp stays on then you likely have a roasted coil in one of your speakers somewhere and causing a short which is shutting your amp down into protection mode-if the amp wont stay on with nothing connected to it then you have probably roasted something inside the amp and uhhh good luck bro
