Normally, the Pin Number ( or Called WEP/WPA Key of Network ) is a 10 digit number on the bottom of Linksys Router below the Bar Code.

Probably, this key has be changed when setting up the router by the Technician.

If you have tried all the possible numbers you find underneath the Router, try this utility ( your laptop/PC should be wireless to each other )

My network setup is asking for a pin number that is on my router. Obviously there is no pin number for this particular router and my network is asking for a 4 or 8 digit number. What do I do?

If its asking for a pin number I would check the sticker on the bottom of the router. it may have the router PIN you are looking for. If not trying typing in your internet browser address bar 192.168.1.1 and find the network settings and see if there is a pin set up, if so write it down or clear it to have no PIN

I can't find the pin number

if you trying to connect to the wireless network on Windows VISTA ot Windows 7 computer ?
When you try to connect to the wireless network on VISTA / 7 computer then it will ask you for the PIN number. on the same window at the bottom you will find the option " I don't want to configure, I want to enter the key manually " OR " I don't know the PIN I just want to connect ". You will find this option at the bottom in very small letters. If you click on it, it will go to next step. on the next step you it will ask you for the security key if the network is secured.
If you don't know the key then you will need to access the router set up page.

The internet guy was just here today in my new place but i wasn't here with him.To connect to the internet it is asking for a 8 digit pin code located on the bottom of the router. I can seee several...

When you say, "IT is asking for..." exactly what is "it?"
It sounds to me like you have a Linksys wireless interface (possibly USB) on your PC which assumes it is going to connect to a Linksys router, which would have that PIN code on it... but you don't own a Linksys router and therefore the whole PIN code protocol is futile.
Bypass the proprietary PIN code nonsense and enter the WEP or WPA password the installer gave you (if any; it's possible he didn't set any) to connect to your access point from your PC.

Im trying to set up a password on my linksys router

What's the model number of your router? It's on the bottom, there is also a Version number usually like V1 V2 V4 etc. If you see that number include that in your response.

Thanks!

How can i reset my Linksys Wireless-G2.4GHZ Broadband Router settings

Try to reset the router. This should resolve your problem. That model has a small hole were you must press with some a paper clip for exemple for a few seconds. This will reset the router to its original state.
