Yes.....simply connect the High Level Imputs to the output of the amplifier of your system.

As long as your sony reciever has a sub out connection you should be able too. This powered sub you have has a rca sub input which should coincide with the receivers rca sub out.

firt you clean the subwoofer with cleaner after that, check the subwoofer srrounding, no electrical wire ,mobile phone & electrical operated items is near ur subwoofer.
1. Do not use maximum volume of subwoofer.
2. Use only 65-85% volume of your sub woofer.

THIS UNIT HAS NO SUB WOOFER AMP IN IT. THE ONLY WAY TO OVER COME THIS IS TO HOOK THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT SPEAKERS STRAIGHT TO THE SUB WOOFER AND THEN GO FROM THE SUB WOOFER BACK TO THE INPUTS ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT FOR THE FRONT SPEAKERS. THE SUB WOOFER THIS WAY WILL EXTRACT THE BASS AND THE FRONT WILL RECEIVE THEIR PART. THIS SOUNDS CRAZY AS HELL I KNOW BUT THAT'S HOW I GOT MINE TO WORK. THE OUTPUT FOR THE SUBWOOFER IS USELESS AND PUT THERE FOR YOU TO HOOK UP AN AMP FOR A SUB WOOFER. EVERYTHING HAS SHORT COMINGS, AND THAT'S THE ONE FOR THE AX-720.

P.S. I have been using the unit on its own, just connected to my new tv, and the bass improvment is fantastic.

I had to have the amp TA-VE150 repaired,by having the IC joints resoldered, due to overheating.
