SOURCE: I have a canon s9000 and am getting the following

This is indicating a defective print head.

Remove and reinstall the print head. If this does not resolve it, then you will need to look at getting a new print head.

SOURCE: Canon i550 LED error sequence: 7 orange +1 green flash

According to Canon 7 orange flashes indicates a print head fault. Solution they recommend is to take it to one of their service agents. Problem is that replacement print heads are not cheap and it is usually more economical to replace the printer. You could try taking the print head to a cartridge refiller and have it professionally cleaned (cost you nothing or next to nothing) and see if that solves the problem.

I've just acquired a 2nd hand Canon i550x printer with a PC setup running XP. The printer works but when printing a multiple page document only the first page prints and then the green light flashes...

Here is a possible solution.
Open 'Printers and Faxes' and right-click your printer. Select 'Properties' from the menu.
viscamtech_26.jpg

Select Paper/Quality tab. And from the 'Paper Source' select 'Auto feeder' or 'Auto' if 'Manual feed' is selected.
viscamtech_27.jpg

If Manual feed is selected, that means the printer is waiting for you to insert a paper for each page to print. That is why you get only the first page printed.
Good luck! And if this solves your problem, consider voting me.

My printer shows head alignment problem, what to do? it prints top half of the line only

Go to Control Panel. Click on Printers & Faxes. Right Click on your Printer's icon. Click Properties on the drop down menu. Click Maintenance Tab. Select Print head Alignment. Carry out the instructions displayed. A print test page will be printed after the alignment has been done. Check the printed matter with the sample page. If not OK again carry out the process till you get a clear printed page.

Bought used BJC-85 - feeds paper - won't print with new cartridge. Must have been dry too long. Where do I get a print head for it? Or a cleaning kit? I need it right away for a trip.

No need to change the print head. Just carry out all the maintenance tasks with the new cartridge. Make sure that you remove the thin plastic film from the ink pad. All you have to do is to click on printer/faxes in control. Click on properties in the drop down menu. Click on the maintenance and carry out each task i.e. print head cleaning, alignment, nozzles cleaning etc.

Printer not responding to the computer

I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.
