Hi,
It depends upon the type of card which you are using and the type of device in which you are using the card.

Remove the card from the device and check for any small switch/knob which causes the card in read-only mode.
If nothing is present, then try connecting your card to a computer using a card reader and try to format the card.

Set read/write tab on sd card to accept info?

See the little tab on the left side of the card? Use your finger nail to move it up or towards the end with the shiny contacts to unlock the card. If you want to protect what you put on the card then push the tab down after you add files to it to prevent accidental erasure and adding new files to it.

Canon fs300 says card has been set for erasure prevention; won't let me record

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
If that doesn't do it, try another card.

I have a 16 GB SDHC memory card i formated my memory card and put it on the camera it gives error (the card is set for erasure prevention) and the lock swith is broken (it maybe from here)...

The SD630 works with SD cards. Your 16GB card is an SDHC card and will not work with this camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Card is locked

There is a tiny switch on the memory card that is used to lock to prevent accidental erasure. Make sure that this small lever on the side of the SD card is pushed to unlock.

When i try to format the memory card, it displays that the memory card is locked. How do i unlock it?

There is a tiny slide switch on the side of the memory card if you look on carefully. Slide it accordingly as indicated to unlock, this is provided to prevent accidental erasure of important data in the card.

I have a canon 2000 video camera and it says the card is set for erasure prevention and I cant delete some videos that i want gone. How do I correct this problem?
