My Canon MX420 All in one printer will print but not scan. I just got it out of the shop for another isssue; do I need to download another program?

Hi my cannon MX 420 wouldn't scan if I tried to use the button on the printer. However if I opened the printer file from control panel, there was an option for scanning, which worked great. In the scanning options box read and choose each time you scan. Hope this helps

try to download epson scan from the website www.epson.com and then look for the updated version of epson scan. read the details and add ons that will greatly help you with your desired scanning operation

HP C6180, File is too large to send after scanning

Hi

You may check the resolution of the scanned picture,lowering down the resolution to some extent will not damage the quality of the scanned image,also it will lower down the file size to great deal and this should help you send the fax without any issues.

Printer will only print, not copy fax or scan

Hi,
It is possiblethat the all in one solution software you used in XP doesn't work with Vista, after some update or other. You did the right thing by uninstalling and reinstalling. Make sure you have the correct driver from the HP site..

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP C6180) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

I could not scan

I had the same problem. I had to install a new driver (free) from hp web site. Works great now.

You need to install the scan driver, click on this link and choose your Operating system and install the scan driver, click HERE

Problem with scanner

Hi,
Try to get the scanner operating by using a programme such as paint (open file from scanner or camera) or powerpoint (insert picture from scanner or camera). I have used this with success in the past. I have not used the scan button so I cannot advise you on this.
Hope this at least gets you going with scanning a copy of something and once you have it in these programmes you can at least print it and make some changes that you desire.

Scanner Problem Epson Stylus CX4800

Try to clean the scanner glass with a dry cloth...
Try scanning afterwards...if the same issue occurs...
Try to uninstall and reinstall the scanner from your computer..

If you have windows...
Go to add or remove programs and uninstall "epson scan"

Join the clan I have several and several laptops all of them have stopped scanning with message cannot load application. I think it must be a windows auto security update that has zapped them all. I have tried reloads taking off firewall usb instead of wireless . All no joy. If you get a solution let me know pls.

Hi I get this problem with my Lexmark X4550, the only solution I've found is to move my laptop into close proximity to the printer then the application does load, I can't understand why this happens as my router is downstairs and when the laptop is far away from the printer it sends documents to print with no probs but won't scan unless they are near each other.
