Check the connections to the TV, try to double check if the input source is good and does not carrry any video noise. the next thing would be a fault within possible with the drive, a screen failure or a processing fault..

- Essentially, you've said *anything inside it* could be wrong.
My own Toshiba 42HP83 goes into purple ghost screen mode after a few hours, which is an overheating problem. The previous owner had the fans (plural) replaced in it and it worked well for him.
To diagnose: If the same ghosting occurs regardless of which input you are receiving from, it's probably the overheat. If it is like this when you have the unit COLD, and first powers up, you need it serviced at a minimum, or with the costs today, simply replaced.
