Mcdevito75 here, Let"s hope your description of the problem with your watch is wrong. Try this sequence, First, wind your watch, the automatic continues to wind your watch when you where it but to get it started, wind it 20--30 times. 2nd, your crown locks down, turn the stem Clockwise to un-lock it (the stem) now pull the stem all the way out then back in 1/2 way to set date. Set DATE to DATE before the real date turn crown counterclockwise. Now pull out crown all the way and turn clockwise to set the DATE and time (real Date) push the crown back in and turn counterclockwise to lock the crown. If this doesn"t work, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this adjustment.

Hands will not move

Who installed the battery, are they competent?

If they are take it back to them for repair in not send it to Brietling service for repair.

This is not a DIY job.

Breitling has a weird noise when shaken (sounds mechanical) and seconds hand wont work (usually it does if you move watch)

Sounds pretty serious!

The most likely thing to go wrong is the balance wheel has become dislodged. The most likely cause of this is being dropped onto ahard surface.

It needs to go to a Brietling dealer for repair.

Help needd to find out how ro set Alarm on my Bulova Millennia 98A48. A users guide would be appreciated. I have lost mine.

Pull out the winding stem (crown) when second hand reaches 12 o'clock, set main time by ajusting stem, next press and hold A button "near 9 o'clock" hands will move quickly, when close to matching main time, release A button and press in and out quickly until it matches main time. Next push winding stem in, this will start the main and the sub-hands together for normal time. To set alarm press and hold A button until set time is reached, select B button alarm mode "2 o'clock" for beep or vibra, to turn alarm on/off press C button "4 o'clock" for 1 or 2 seconds, the sub hands will move rapidly until it reaches normal time and alarm will sound 3 times indicating it is set, finally when alarm goes off early in the morning for example you can press any button to stop. To reset alarm press C and it will go back to the original alarm setting.

I have a spare set of instructions if required.

No action when I pull the stem out to adjust time

There may be more than one "out" position.

Typically there are three positions 1) home 2) 1st adjusting position, 3) 2nd adjusting position.

If you haven't got the instructions, you can get a download from their web site, (Rolex.com). You go to the bottom of the screen and there is a menu. Select "downloads" and you will see a list of downloads, choose yours.

Where can I get an instruction manual for my Breitling Watch?

You can't. At least not with out some effort. Breitling is paranoid about rip-offs.By that I mean someone gets an original manual and boxes it with a fake breitling and.....WA LA.....rip-off.

The best way to get one is click the link below and locate a service center nearest you and get it though them.

Most owners won't part with theirs and they are difficult to scan so it's about your best/only option.

Good choice by the way I don't know what model you have but I love my Colt Chrono.
Hope this helps.

Stem of watch won't return to its original position

The winding crown is loose on the stem. Get the stem completely out of watch and while holding in vice or pair of pliers screw the crown back on tight. Do not overscrew it, as the stem may brake. Even better would be to unscrew the crown first, dip the threaded stem end in to the Superglue and then screw the crown back. It will prevent from the same problem in future.

Changing the DAY on this analog watch.

On some analog Timex watches with a day/date window there are only two "pull-out" positions on the stem, one for changing the date and one for the time. To change the day you need to pull the stem all the way out and crank the hands through 24 hour periods until you get the day correct. Be sure that you have the correct AM/PM setting (if you are setting the watch after noon you need to advance the hands another 12 hours so that the day changes at midnight)

Changing the DAY on this analog watch.

Turning it backwards didn't work on my watch. I ended up winding the time ahead several days worth to show the right day of the week (being careful to turn it to the correct 9 o'clock of the day, for me is was the first for morning.) Then I could go ahead and change the date using the first click postition of the stem.

I see that light bulb going off and you whispering "why, of course!"
