My 8200 Dell Dimensions w/windows xp Home Edition D6C3Q511 on occasions tells me my virtual memory is low. Is there something I can purchase to increase this memory? Service Tag is 6C3Q511 Express Service Code = 137-925-465-49. Computer Description = Barrett Computer. Is this something I can install myself or do I need to take to my local technician?

re seating the memory card could fix this issue, however look at back of the desktop and you should see 4 led's (diagnostic led's) the sequence in which the lights glow will let you know what the issue is for eg GYYY - means memory is not detected ( Green, yellow, yellow, yellow)
Take the computer (not the keyboard & mouse & other periperals)
to any computer-store -- the smaller the store, the better.
That store needs your business -- they will open the case,
sell you memory that will be compatible with your computer,
and will, if you ask, install the RAM for a small (maybe even zero) fee.
windows xp uses virtual memory which is a partition on your hard drive. do a defrag on your hard drive. where your windows parameters is located, make sure virtual memory is set to automatic. if you can afford it increase your on board RAM to at least 512.
