That might meaning that's it's draining the residual charge left on the battery, before it can be charged, but if it does this for more than an hour, your battery is "toast".
1. Charge the headset:Headset is charged via USB cable, the light will be red when charging. When the battery is fully charged (about 2-3 hours), the red light of the headset will turn off automatically or the red light turns blue.
2. Turn on the headset:Press the on / talk button on the headset for about 5 seconds until the blue and red flashes alternately (or blue flashes or the blue lights all the time ), now the headset is ready to be connected to the iPhone.
3. Go to Settings, and tap Bluetooth. Turn on Bluetooth.
iPhone will automatically start searching for Bluetooth devices. Tap the device in the Devices list, then follow the onscreen instructions to connect to it. After matching successfully, the blue light on the headset will flash twice per time.
4. Call: when you finish all the above steps, you are going to talk via the Bluetooth headset. When there is incoming call, press the on / talk button, you can talk with Bluetooth headset, when you want to end the call, press the on / talk button, you can end the call.
5. Turn off the headset: Press the on / talk button for 5 seconds until the red light of the headset flashes quickly for twice, then release the button, the headset will be turned off.
Do an Hard reset. Plug charger into the headset, press and hold power button and plug the charger into AC, light indicator will change after a while from red to green/blue.
Don't know how helpful this is but if you are using the Altec Lansing backbeat 903, I had a similar problem. I couldn't get the headset to power on or charge(no blue or red lights that blink or stay on), so what I had to do was a reset on the bluetooth/headset. You simply press and hold the power button, then while holding the power button plug in the charger. Of course the chager was plugged into the wall.
We sell these often at work.(wep401) I have found these to have many MANY problems. Its always the exact same issue you are all talking about. It should not blink red and blue while on charging dock. It should only be red.(while charging) Then turns blue when its done charging(about 2 hrs). I highly suggest u return the product and stay away from this specific model. There is no fixing this.(internal battery issue) It either works or it doesnt. The samsung wep 301 is an excellent alternative choice.Looks alot alike and is WAY CHEAPER in price..works great!..Hope this helps
