Nikon coolpix camera has lines

Okay, I've had my nikon coolpix camera for about a year & a half now. its worked fine up until about a week ago. it turns on & off fine, and the screen looks good but as soon as i take a picture it shows up with lines on it. the picture has lines on it in the review mode and even when uploaded on my computer. it does that with or without the flash, and ive tried the video mode and videos come out normal.
is there any way to get the lines to stop ruining my pictures?
thanks,

Hi,

You no need to fix this problem. This is a CCD failure and in some cases had been subject to a recall. Contact Nikon support-this may be one of the recalls and replacement camera could be on its way. They will do it for free of cost.

Thank you !!

Camera constantly takes blurred pictures

Appears that the auto focus mechanism is not working, This anomaly is most obvious in lower light situations when focusing is much more critical.

If the camera was new and two months old I would either return it for another one or have Nikon repair the lens assembly under the terms of its warranty.

I cannot activate Nikon Coolpix S210 (problem with ON/OFF button)

had a similar issue with my Pentax, it would power on and power back off. Tried playing with it for a while and it never recovered. Chances are its time to replace it. These new electronics are jam packed with lots of mini moving parts and are prone to excessive wear over time. they're are no servicable parts inside them unfortunately. I would try ebay for a reasonable replacement camera.

My Nikon Coolpix L3 camera won't power up. I've checked the batteries and they're okay. I've tried connecting it to the PC with the USB cable, but still nothing. The last time I used it was about 6 weeks...

This camera will not run from the usb. It needs batteries or an adapter. Some small digital blister pack kind of cameras can run from the usb power from the computer or other source.
Make sure you have full charged batteries.
Take the batteries out, and check for corrosion inside the battery compartment. If any is there, clean and try again.
Take care,

Overexposure

CoolPix 5700's have a common image sensor failure. Check with Nikon for recalls, this may be the cause of your issue. Alternatively the shutter may be stuck open, causing too much light to reach the sensor and causing over exposure as well as lines across the image. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
