Hi, If you are experiencing disc read errors. Nintendo is upgrading inbound and outbound shipping to expedite the total repair process. There is no cost for the repair or shipping. Please note: returning the game to the retail store will not solve the problem.
If the Cd being played is a double-layer disc which has a large memory capacity. A very small percentage of Wii consoles may have trouble consistently reading data off this large capacity disc if there is some contamination on the lens of the disc drive. Nintendo has specialized cleaning equipment that can resolve this problem. (Please do NOT attempt to clean the lens yourself, as you may damage the system.)
Well I think that there is a hardware issue going on here then. So you should buy a wii instead
because wiis can play gamecube disc's too because i play my gamecube games on a wii and its better too.
An Error has occurred: If you are getting the specific message, "An error has occurred. Turn the Power Off and check the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for further instructions." This means there may be an internal problem with the system.
Check Individual Game Disc problems or Multiple Game Disc problems (depending upon how many games exhibit the problem) to see if the cause of the message is a dirty or damaged disc.
If the disc appears fine or works properly in another system, this means there is an internal problem with the system. A repair will need to be set up. Please use our convenient repair options.
First off invest in a can of dust off and dust it out through the vents. Take isopropal alcohol (from walmart or anywhere) and a Q-Tip and clean the laser beam that shoots at the CD. I have revived many dead PS2 units when everyone else couldn't not get them to work. Works 75% of the time. Was the disc left in the direct sunlight? Sunlight damages the discs. Hopefully that workds for you and will keep your game cube running for a lot longer!
If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another
disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either
Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be
repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that
will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives
information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems
