I have a similar reoccuring problem with the left channel on my speakers. All of a sudden, while playing music or whatever, the left channel jusr dies. Turning the system off and then on again from the conrol unit does not remedy the situation. By chance, I discovered a workaround to get the left channel working again: Push the main power switch of the subwoofer until it almost switches off and then release it so that the power is never actually switched off. Now a click is heard in the system and the left channel comes alive again. This is quite annoying and seems to have something to do with switches in the subwoofer. Low quality components may have been used. I 've been thinking of getting another 2.1 system, but it's not easy to find one... Maybe I should open the subwoofer box and go through the switches and possibly hardwire some connections...

Why Onkyo HTS-9400THX: Front both and subwoofer not working.?

Try differnt speakers, if they do not produce sound, amp channels may be blown and then you need to take it to a shop.

Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver how to hook up speakers

HI,

Follow these steps to connect a powered sub woofer to your receiver: You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver. blank.gif

Sound only coming from 3 of 6 speakers

A 5.1 sound card will give output in all channels only if the audio being played is also 5.1.

Normally out of 6 Speakers only 2 front and sub woofer will play sound, in case of a DVD or Movie which has 5.1 encoding, all 5 will come alive.

Also, Dolby Prologic II and Dolby Digital will convert a 2 channel input into psudo 5.1 enviornment but Dolby has to be in hardware or speakers or Receiver.

I have a active sub woofer (akari bazooka) but the only connections available are the speaker connections. The front of the sub woofer has volume adjustment. How can I connect this sub woofer to my Harman...

hi,
You can't connect the pre out of your AVR to this sub woofer. Do one thing connect the frond left/ right channel speaker "B" out of harman kardon to the sub woofers left right speaker in put. you can connect the speaker out "A" to your normal left right speakers. Remember to switch Speaker "A" and "B" in ON position in your AVR. Also do one thing go to the speaker setup of AVR and switch OFF (slelect NONE) the sub woofer. This will disconnect the sub woofer pre our and the sub frequency will mix with frond left right channels.

I need a wiring diagram from car stereo to 2 x 6 " x 9 " and a sub woofer please

You can connect the two 6x9 speakers to the two individual left and right outputs of the car stereo.
Connect each of the left and right channel with the correct polarity . Now the Sub-woofer requires an amplifier to be connected separately and so you need to use the car stereo to be linked to a sub woofer amp which powers the sub woofer.

I have a power acoustik 0V4-1200 amp and 2-12" kicker cvr dual 2 ohms. My amp keeps getting really hot and turning off. I have two pair of rca jacks from my cd player to the amp. One speaker hooked up...

i have found the specs to your amp. 1. Amplifier connections: Lets make things simple. As we look at the amplifier speaker connections, we will number the outputs 1 2 3 4 from left to right for the top connections and again 5 6 7 8 from left to right for the bottom connections. 1 should be connected to a positive (RED) (+) on sub woofer A on voice coil (a) 4 should be connected to a negative (BLACK) (-) on sub woofer A on voice coil (b) Now using a small piece of cable, connect negative of voice coil (a) to positive of voice coil (b) Follow the same procedure for the other sub woofer using 5 and 8 as 1 and 4 This configuration should make the amp run at 4 OHM BRIDGED x 2. i hope this helps. dreamsystems

Alpine 3530 Bridgeable 4 channel power amplifier how do i connect the wires/speakers

Use the left and right to connect the positive and negative to the respective speakers in the right and left. Please make sure of the polarity and so be cautious. next you can connect the sub woofer from the left and right channel as the amp is bridgeable. Use the lead to connect from the R- positve to L negative. test and check the phasing of the speakers, must get good low bass or else you can reverse the sub woofer and check again. If you ae having frint speakers connect accordingly the the other channel. Helpful Good day

HOW TO CONNECT SUB WOOFER IN 4CH CAR AMP

sounds like you need another amp, if the amp has a speaker already connected to each channel, you have no open channel to connect a sub-woofer.
Some years ago I seen an amplifier that was designed to use 3 speakers on 2 channels. what they did was had a speaker on each channel and then they bridged the 3rd speaker across it. That amplifier was designed for this configuration, unless you have an amplifier like that you should not try it. It may result in smoke from the amp.
