Mcdevito75 here, If the battery is 2 years old, it could be un--able to accept a charge. Double check instalation into the charger, make sure charger itself is plugged into outlet. If so, visit a small watch repair shop in your area for battery change.

Bought jr3090-58L in nov 05. won't charge. watch is dead. what do I do next. It has spent more time in the window than on my wrist.

It sounds like you have had trouble with this from day one, the problem is the solar cells are not charging the battery, or the rechargeable battery is defective. I recommend returning the watch if warranty is still in place.

Brand new watch but loses time. Why

You haven't said what kind or what brand of watch you have. If it is a quartz or battery watch, it may need a new battery. Watches often sit on the shelf for long enough periods the battery may be going dead. If it is a windup style, are you winding it all the way up? If it is an automatic winding watch, Have you worn the watch subtantially long enough to get it wound? If it is a kinetic, have you worn it long enough to charge the battery fully? If it is an Eco Drive have you subjected it light long enough to charge the battery? Have you called the store?

You likely have a dead battery. Follow the instructions on this web site http://forums.watchuseek.com/f43/how-change-ctl1616-rechargeable-battery-41076.html
it is clear and covers most casio models. Watch closely for the springs when taking your watch apart. You can order the battery online (the best option) but most people that use a standard lithium battery seem to have no problem.

Most makers recommend regular servicing, so perhaps a visit to the makers service center would solve the problem.

The charges for this are indicated on their web site (tissot.ch). Go to the bottom of the page and their is a link marked "repairs". Click on this to see their charges. Alternatively you could contact their service centers to confirm servicing charges are the same as the repairs
