Picture comes on and then goes off... I came to my computer and the screen was blank. I rebooted and it showed windows start-up screen then went blank. I turn the monitor off... then back on and it shows my desktop for 1 second then goes blank again...same results every time I do this. The power to the screen is always there, just no picture. other monitors work with my computer, so it is isolated to this monitor. I'm not sure what model it is, it's a VIZIO i'm pretty sure it is a 27'' only about 6-9 months old. I have to put a product model in so I will use one of the defaults.. **but that is not the real model"""

I hope it is still under warranty.
Most failures are the power supply and the back light inverter baord.

E640 REBOOT

Hi John,

I see you mentioned you update IE9 then you now get a blank screen...

If I may ask the blank screen showed up after the update or did it show up after restarting the computer?

If your getting a Blank screen when you boot into windows after the IE9 update, try rebooting then boot into Safemode.

Restart you computer then as soon as you see the Boot screen of you computer keep on Tapping f8 to get a list select safemode, then once it boots into safemode windows will load up in safemode on the issue and you can navigate arround to fix things that went wrong.

click on the Start Button on the lower left of the task bar then, click on Programs, select accessories then select system tools, look for system restore then select the option select a different restore point, on the window you may see a list of restore points hoping your system restore was turned on in the very beginning, once you have selected a restore point keep on clicking next then a warning will show just click next again then it will restart your computer.

System restore allows you to restore to a date where you had windows working fine without any problems so if you can get a restore point before updating IE9 then it is possible that you may be able to fix you windows back the way it was.

I hope that this will help,

I am facing problem with my Samsung LCD monitor, when I switched on my Computer it shows the bootup screen, after booting the LCD screen goes blank, when i turned off the monitor and again turned ON the...

Try to do this: Just before the Windows start up screen (after the bios loading) press F8 and log in at safe mode settings. If at this mode you can see your screen change the resolution settings at a lower set. Save and reboot normally. Now try step by step to increase your resolution. In case of a blank screen appears at a new setting, don't do anything; after some seconds the monitor will come back to the previous settings. Save and go on.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

The screen comes on for 2 seconds then goes blank

reboot in safe mode with networking, I believe the monitor is not showing an applied resolution. When you start in safe mode with networking, windows will adjust the resolution to a setting the computer will display. You may need to download and install new display drivers.

Screen goes black. the power light is on, but the picture goes out. if i turn the power off, then on again it comes back for about 5 seconds, then goes black again.

Check to see if this problem follows in safe mode. Reboot and when the Dell splash screen comes up tap F8 until you see the multiboot options. Scroll to "safe Mode with Networking" let the machine boot up and see if you have a screen. If you do, right click on the desktop and set the resolution to 800 X600 and reboot normally. Usually when a screen goes blank in normal mode but shows up in safe mode means you have an incompatible resolution for the monitor or graphics adapter. This may be a driver issue or hardware. If the screen boots up in normal mode at the lower resolution, then try and go to properties again and bump the resolution up a bit, if it blanks again, try to go online and update the driver for the graphics chip.

My computer screen goes blank when I change the user

Hi, A(n) (recently) installed program is probably causing the problem, interfering with the service that takes care of the logon and -off process. To see if this is causing the problem, you can try the following:
Use this method if you remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': rstrui.exe 3. 'System Restore' opens 4. Select a date from which to restore your computer from. Needless to say, the date you choose should be a date on which you weren't experiencing the problem :-)
Use this method if you don't remember around which date the problem started: 1. Click 'Start' -button 2. Type the following into the 'Searchbox': msconfig 3. A system configuration window will show, where you can change the way Windows starts up 4. On the 'General' tab select the second option to boot diagnostically, loading only the standard devices and services. 5. Click 'OK' 6. Click on 'Reboot' 7. When you're computer has rebooted a message will show telling you that you've changed the way windows should start up and the system diagnostics window will show as well. 8. Since only standard devices and services have been loaded, try to logoff or change user and see what happens. If everything goes well, you know that a program, which should be a program you've installed before any problems started showing up, is causing the problem. If not, there's a corruption in the services of your operating system. 9. If everything goes well, you can start loading other services (from programs you've installed in your computer) one by one from the 'System configuration' window by clicking on the 'Services'-tab.
When you've found the the program that's causing the problem, delete it from your computer and select from the 'System configuration' window, 'General' tab the first option, for windows to start normally.
I hope this helps Good luck.

Bank Monitor problems

Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card. If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
