Poor Picture When I turn on my TV the picture has funny colors (Lots of Pink and Green). The picuter will come back most of the time. I check the wires and they don't seem to have an effect. The TV is less then 2 years old. Thanks Dan

Hello,

It's a convergence issue. Go into the main TV menu under video settings and look for convergence. If it has an auto convergence select that and wait a minute the TV will adjust itself and give you a clear picture.
If the TV does not have an auto convergence and just regular convergence than select this. It will give you a grid pattern on your TV and you have to move the curser (using TV remote) and adjust each "point" so that each line is perfectly white. If you notice red or blue anywhere on that "line" then you have to adjust using the up, down, left and right arrow keys to "line up the red and blue lines with the nearest white line. It taked time and patience to do, but when completed, all lines on the grid pattern should be pure white and you will have a great looking picture.
You have to do this will all TV inputs (Video1, Video2 and so on) the reason Zoom looks good, is because you never used that screen as much and so the lenses didn't have a chance to get out of synch.
RPTV's are made of the three lenses (red, Blue and Green) and as you watch TV, these lenses slowly get out of alignment. So you should do a convergence about twice a year to make sure nothing is out of whack.
Hope this help....

Does the Samsung PN58B650 need a minute to warm up the first time you turn it on every day? When I turn on the TV for the first time every day, the picture is there but the colors on the screen are pink...

I swapped out the HDMI cable with standard component cables. The picture and sound is perfect. Later I will swap again with a different HDMI cable to confirm if the problem is a bad cable or if the TV has a problem with HDMI.

Pink/green bar at bottom of picture

phillips are known for dry joints so i would check this first ,if you are good with a soldering iron.

visually inspect each pcb for poor solder connections and solder any bad ones that you find.

this should do the trick.

If you have or had speakers near your tv? then do this try to get a magnet.a magnet on a speaker would do.what you have to do is to place the magnet near the screen of the tv approx. above the green, pink color (turn it on first).you will notice the that the color will react with the magnet try to pull it on the side you will notice that the green, pink color is moving on the same direction do it until its gone.NOTE make sure youll not scratch the screen ok.email me what happened. Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-24FS120 24" TV Color changes

Try turning down (off) the color during such an episode. If the image is tinted pink or green instead of black and white when you do this, you have either an intermittent short in your CRT (tube), which is terminal,or a gun drive problem, which may be repairable. If you're feeding it component instead of composite signal,it may just be a bad connection of the B-Y cable.

Picture problems

CRT green gun is not working properly , maybe dry soldered or no green drive signal. Pink and red colour is due to missing of green colour.
