42LG30 LCD watching TV last night and the colors just went wacky. seems to be to much red, brighter shows ha e the most color distortion. I tried the expert color controls to fix it but it didn't work....

The TV will need to be properly diagnosed to be sure of the problem. A defective power supply output, main board, LVDS cable connection, t-con board or t-con/LCD ribbon connection can cause video display issues.

Going up hills the car serges almost act like it is missing

A bad turbo control valve can cause that, on the side of the air box, 1 connector and 3 hoses going to it, easy to replace. Dont mix up the hoses, they are color coded red, yellow and blue. Part should be relatively cheap.

Sony KP75HW40 unstable red. (not the usual problem)

I would suggest either the Focus block or the RED CRT drive board either one of those items could cause the symptom. A defective CRT could also, but a shorted CRT doesnt usually go back to being normal

HL-P5063W vibrating and won't turn on

i have had this happen to me several times in the field, and if it is what i think it is, you are not going to be happy =(

inside of a DLP type TV, there is a device called a 'color wheel'... it is essentially a disc made up of different colored glass that spins really fast. this disc has 3 or 6 (depending on make/model) pieces of colored glass like pieces of a pie affixed (read: glued) to a hub.

what happens sometimes is that one of the pieces of colored glass flys out of the hub, and causes a massive unbalance in the spinning wheel, which causes the hum/vibration, and since the colored glass is missing, the colors will be all messed up.

if this is what happened, then your television will require a new DLP engine.

Red Wavy lines running across the screen...

Yes - - that indicates one of your convergence amps have failed. That unit takes two STK392-110 Sanyo amps which I personally would replace with STK392-150's for greater reliability. Also check all of the return resistors in that circuit 1.5 ohm 2w and feed resistors 3.3 ohm 1w all are flameproof. You'll likely find that one or more of the return resistors are bad, with suspecting the red is the failed amp check in particular R846 for change in value or open.

PF Kit2 is paper feed kit. I doubt that is the problem. Weve had strange color problems caused by waste toner.

Sounds like it. Replacement of both STKs is required. (They should always replaced as a set).
