This projector was working fine and as far as I am aware has over 1000 hours left. I switch it on (from cold) , it powers up (green light) I see the EPSON logo projected onto the screen and the menu's, then after about 45 seconds a high speed fan comes on, the screen goes blank, and the red light flashed every 1 second (the manual says this is an internal fault) has anyone got any ideas what the fault is ? is it going to cost me an arm and a leg to repair ?

Hi Marrie,
The lamp looks fine. The LED that is flashing is the Lamp/Temp (red) every 1 second. The manual says blinking every 0.5 secs is lamp/heat fault, every 1 sec is internal fault, this is every 1 second and the fast fan comes on after about 45 seconds from cold so doesn't seem like an overheating issue unless there is supposed to be a primary colling fan that is faulty. Others have suggested Poss Power Ballast or fan switch fault, any ideas ?
Thanks again Marrie,
I took it to a local PC repair shop who maintain and deal with the local school projectors and they have said there is a problem with the main board.
My problem is where can I get a replacement board for a decent price ?
I was told it would be cheaper to buy a new projector but surely there must be some spare parts around ?
Do you have any ideas where I can go, phone, email, internet for the correct bits - I seem to have hit a dead end other than ebay but in the last 2 weeks nothing has come up. . .
Thanks in advance.
Hi there
Firstly keep in mind that the hours they give you is only an estimate.
Take out the lamp and check for any irregularity on it , like shape or discoloration.
Could you tell me which LED on the Projector flashes ? Power or Lamp or Temp. ?
