Use Windows Media Player:

The instructions in these pages, which are largely links, pertain to Windows Media Player 10 and 11 only.

Windows Media Player is made by Microsoft. The general help page for Windows Media Player is:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/default.mspx

Through this link, you can enter a variety of search terms that will help you find what you are looking for (exs.: “add files to my mp3 player”; “delete files from my mp3 player,” etc.)

Important Vocabulary:

The code word for “mp3 player” in Windows Media Player is “DEVICE” or “portable device”

The code word for adding files is “SYNC,” “syncing,” or “synchronizing”

The code word for copying files from CD is “RIP,” or “ripping”

The code word for files stored on both My Computer and my Mp3 player (when it is connected to the computer) is “LIBRARY”

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/wmp10/harrison_wmp10.mspx

To add files (SYNC) to your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/sync.mspx

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0085.mspx#EDF

To delete files from your mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

My Directions:

1. Connect your mp3 player to the computer

2. Open Windows Media Player

3. Click on the icon of your Mp3 player on the left-hand side of the Library

4. Click on the Songs, Tracks, or other Music Folder

5. Find a song or songs that you want to delete

6. Left-click the song once to highlight it

7. Press the “Delete” button on your computer’s keyboard

To copy (RIP) files from CD to Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 10:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/getstarted/ripcd.mspx

To copy (RIP) files from CD to Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11:

How to delete songs

You cant delete anything once files are burnt to a disk.
you will have to copy the music to a folder then delete the music files that you don't want then you can add more music files then burn them to another cd/dvd
Click start click on computer to open you should see your drives C: and your other drives cd dvd and your phone E: or F:

Right click on the the music disk to open you should see your music

from there you select the music files right click on the music file/s select copy navigate back to the drive right click select paste or hold the mouse cursor the music file/s drag them to your
computer and paste them in usually in my documents my music.

I cant change any of the songs on my mp3!!!

Try it in your realplayer and see if you can add and delete there after you syncronize it, Try that see if it works for you, Hope so, also if you do manage to hook up with usb go into the setting and check and make sure that all options are check that you want to work, If you see that there is a way to let the sanddisk manage music on my sansa or you can do it, If sandisk is managing it, It will not let you add music, so change that and see if that helps ya out, You may also notice that there is another way to connnect in the sandisks options again, I hope that gets you up and saving music, Take Care and Happy Holidays

RCA M202A

I found the best way to delete your mp3; go to start..find you device in "my computor" it will be a generic drive. right click and go to "format" click and it will prompt you to delete "playlist".."audio" or "music". However it will erase everything on your mp3 and allow new downloads. if you want to save some files; Plug mp3 in usb port..you will get prompt to define which system to play files. I use realplayer. scroll down until you can select "rca (G)" click "view" your mp3 will load and display all songs..you can then select and delete any or all, right click and choose option. To load; choose burn/transfer scrool down on the leftside to rca (G) and you can choose from you music menu ( I suggest making a playlist first to indentfy what songs you prefer, you can always add more from all music menu. add any files that you like until full. depending on song generally about 50 to 65 son on the 512 model. Do not worry about too many songs.. NO harm....they just won't fit.... I hope this help anyone with this problem

Deleted root file from nano now cant add any music to it

Your ipod should have come with a disc and instructions on how to reload the Firmware. This is the software that operates your player. Reloading this should hopefully bring your player back to life! Follow the instructions carefully!
