Gas oven stopped working

Hello, I have a Frigidaire gas oven that stopped working. The broiler and stove top work fine, but the oven unit will not start. The igniter does get very red, but the gas doesn't flow and the oven doesn't heat up.

For the last month or so the oven would take a long time to preheat, and it occasionally smelled of gas -- about the time I would notice the smell the oven would light up.

From what I have read I wonder if it's the oven valve not opening up? Or perhaps the igniter is weak? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a Frigidaire FGF355AUC we bought it about 5 years ago, and it is converted to LP.

Most probable cause is a weak bake burner ignitor,if you can remove the floor of the oven and see a orange glow but within one minute thier is no flame the ignitor that glows is weak and needs to be replaced,if no glow at all ,if your capable find the 2 wires to the bake ignitor,using a volt meter set to AC volts there should be 120vac to the ignitor. If their is 120 vac and absolutly no glow the ignitor is cracked and needs to be replaced,if their is not 120 vac it could be the gas safety valve or control

Gas Stove top seems to work fine and when we try and turn on the oven or broiler you can hear the click to try and ignite it but no heat comes out - the broiler doesn't ignite. any thoughts?

Sounds like it's not getting gas. Check to make sure all gas line valves are turned on and the tank has gas in it.

you have a bad ignitor,it's a round ignitor part number WB13K21 and it's around 60 dollars.

I have a gas stove - Frigidaire model FGF326ASA. The burners work fine, the ignitor in the oven glows hot and has continuity. The oven and broiler will not light. If they do, it is for a brief period.

You probably have a weak ignitor. To operate properly it should draw 3.5 amps or better. The ignitor must be bright. If it is dim it is weak.

If both the broiler ignitor and the bake ignitor are not working it is unlikely they are both bad. You may have another problem. Need to check voltage to the ignitors to be sure.

WHY WON'T MY OVEN HEAT UP?

Most modern gas ovens and many broilers use a "glow-bar" style of igniter that glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn't reach the proper temperature, the gas valve won't open. You may need to replace the igniter.
