You need to purchase a phono preamp (about $20) and then the output of the preamp can be connected to any line level input on the receiver (tape, CD, DVD etc.)

SOURCE: Hi ,Marantz SR7200 , i am getting an audible hiss
if your hooking up a phono input lead to a digital input lead it won't work analog and digital totally different setup. when you connect the leads up it just kills the input amp so there is no noise.

I could be just anything, or just the low quality binding posts used by MARANTZ for that.
Please describe to me in details how you've connected your speaker wires at the back, and give me description when and how did this problem came up.

Hello there Randy.
Yes. You can hook up a phono record. What is the make of the phono record, and what model.
Also, please let me know what your budget is because you will probably need an extra preamp for that to work correctly.
I will give you in detail what to use, how and where to find it. Please let me know your location.
Best regards
Evangelos
