Unfortunately there are no known ways to change the user code. The parental controls are set because it's a DVD player for kids - and you must input the password every time you want to play a DVD.

1369 is the code to allow you to play blocked movies. I still haven't found a way to change the level. Again, you have to input the code each time. I know it stinks, but I guess they didn't think of the parental feature in its entirety.

How do I change the zone on my Soniq E32W13D-AU?

You should have got a red card with the AU and NZ customer support numbers on it. If you phone them, they will tell you how to unblock the player to make it region free.

On the Soniq QV191LC TV and DVD player, you follow these steps. It may work for your model but if it doesn't, try the support line.

1. Switch on
2. Switch to DVD mode (use Source button on remote)
3. Select DVD setup menu (press DVD button on remote)
4. Select Preferences page (use > key on remote)
5. Press '0' key 4 times on remote: the Region Code menu will appear
6. Use up and down on remote to select region (0 of course)
7. Press exit button.

You should now be region free.

Try these numbers:
AU 1300 765 663 / (61) 3 9543 5111
NZ (64) 9 2667512

If it's any help, you can download the manual here:

Good luck!

My laptop only plays some dvds

You player is locked to a particular region and cannot play DVD from other regions unless the player is made Region Free or you install a Region Free program.

To changethe Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware -Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVDdrive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have beenmade.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmwareto make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrongfirmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece ofsoftware (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region andPasskey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There areseveral available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From:-

Dvd player will not allow dvd to play because of tv guardian. we did not put this on the player. little neice was playing with controller but player was off at the time so why does the player not play dvd?

Make sure that both the parental controls on your TV as well as your DVD are disabled if present, then try again. This time choose a password so that your niece cannot change the settings.

Parental lock on cannot open it

Actually its, 'select' then '7444', and all that does is reset the password.
Press the SELECT button and enter the 4-digit number "7444" whenever the Parental Control display asks you for your password. The old password is deleted.
You will then be prompted to enter a new password, enter whatever number you want, something like 0000, or a number that is easy to remember. If you wish to turn it off, just set it to off and forget about passwords.
Notes
- When you play DVDs which do not have the Parental Control function, playback cannot be limited on this player.
- If you do not set a password, you cannot change the settings for playback limitation.
- Depending on the DVD, you may be asked to change the parental control level while playing the disc. In this case, enter your password, the change the level. When you stop playing the DVD, the playback limitation level returns to the original setting.

After changing DVD settings:
To save your changes, be sure to eject the DVD before pressing the RESET button or turning off the unit with the MAIN POWER switch. Please note that changes will not be saved if you reset or turn off the console without first ejecting the DVD.

Zenith dvb410 parental control

Without the DVD in the player go into your setup menu. Arrow down to the icon that is a lock press enter. arrow down to password and if it says new or change select it. you need to enter a pass code so that when the prompt comes up you can override the parental limits.
if you need to clear your old security code because you have forgotten it the manual says to input the 6 digit number from teh setup menu "210499" I did not do this as I had never set up a security code but the Across the universe DVD will play as long as enter the security code.

Dvd troubles

Same problems with my unit.  But, try this... I think it worked.  First, you can not get to the setup screen for the unit with a DVD in the player.  So, remove the DVD first:  Unplug the unit, wait a few seconds, plug it back in.  Then hit the DVD open button and remove DVD in player.

I think the issue with not reading certain DVDs is a problem with the "parental control" on the unit. Without setting parental control there were a few DVDs I could not play and sometimes (not always) I was asked about parental control before a movie would play.  At the Sony Blue DVD screen, select Setup on the remote control.  Select DVD setup and get to Parental control.  Set a password.  This will then take you to a "rating" screen.  By setting the rating very high (I set mine for #8) any movie should play without needing the password.  With no password set, you can not change the "rating" and hence mine was set at #1 (kids).  It seems to have worked for now anyway.  Good luck.
