My Frigidaire FAC124P1A air conditioner is leaking water on the inside of my apartment. How do I get it to stop? It is only a year old. I notice water running down the wall under the air conditioner a few days ago, and today I noticed that the carpet underneath it is soaked. What should I do?

SOURCE: Frigidaire air conditioner - no cool air coming out.

if you used it alot, i would check it for freon.
checkthe air filter, make sure it's not dirty.
check the front panel, make sure there's no "ice/frost" in the unit.

SOURCE: slow water flow

dadcanfix. There are two possibilities here. One could be the water valve itself, clogged or not seating or opening properly. The second would be the water tank on the refrigerator side, partially frozen. I believe they have a kit now with coiled tubing that replaces that tank because of the trouble they had with it. Remove the refer drawers and take a hair dryer and go over the tank lightly. See if that improves the water flow. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: water leaking from wash machine

It is probably a seal that is on or near the bottom of the tub. Dirt and grim wears at this seal over time. The leak is slow so it is hard to visually see.

Check for power at the plug in, if it's got power take it back under warranty.

Hi, My air conditioner is working, but the warter is leaking inside. It is 3 years old. Any ideas? Thanks.

There is a drain pan under the evaporator coil that has a tube connected to it to drain the water to the rear of the unit where it exits the unit. I suspect that the pan and/or drain tube is filled with gunk. You have to take the front cover and then the metal enclosure off the unit to clean these out.

White snow.. I had this issue when 2 inside unit electrical lines were hooked up backwards at the compressor. The compressor would pump too often and overcool the inside unit, because it was using the wrong temperature sensor. But you could have a different issue. I'd have them recheck your freon levels, that can cause it to cool too much - should be 120-135psi when it is running, after 5-10 minutes or so. They adjust this for the outside temperature though.

How to stop a leak

the water leak is not a big concern -other than the mess it causes, but as to the AC's operational status it is supposed to draw water/humidity from the 'cooling space' so - it's still doing it's job (I'm assuming it's cooling too).

As to the water - I would check the drain to be sure it's not clogged up - which is usually the problem. If the drain is clear and the AC is draining (to the outside) properly - I would then check and make sure the AC is tilted backwards out the window.

good luck!

A.C. unit is draining on the inside of the house.

There is a drainage and it is stucked with dust, mold etc. Just open metal lid on the wall inside your house, where the coil is installed and where you're changing filters, remove air filter, there at bottom you will see the drainage hole (now under water probably). Rent an air compressor from Home Depot or Lowe's, stick the hose to that hole and turn compressor on. This shall blow the drainage through. After that slowly pour 1-2 cups of Chlorox or Tylex in there, let it stand for 15 minutes, then pour some more water and blow with compressed air again, then flush it with water and blow last time.
Do that at least once in two years, or you gonna have same problem again.

Fidgerdare electrtolux air conditioner

have you brought it down for a general cleaning on the 3 year period? if not then that's what it needs now.

the coil is freezing up because of dirt accumulation on the coil. even there is a filter, still with in 3 years it could have accumulated to decrease the airflow thru the coil and freeze it up.

tnx 4 using fixya,

I had that problem last year. When I took it apart I found that the drainage hoses that lead to the reservoirs were plugged with dust build up. I clean out the hoses as well as the rest of the insides. I have since placed the entire unit inside a shallow (under bed) style rubermaid tote and have not had any more water leaking. Hope that helps you.
