The wiring won't have changed unless someone was fiddling with it. If the water heats up, that means the element is fine. So the problem is whatever release the steam.

There is probably a blockage preventing water from entering the steam generator.

Mostly with domestic steam equipment the water gravity feeds and it doesn't need much to stop the flow - often just a collapsed tube or a wayward blob of sealer.

Unfortunately to find the culprit the appliance will probably need partially dismantling.

Hi Cynthia: I believe your model number is the 8910W. User Guides for the 8910 Series are available online. I am including links to two versions currently available:
