HDD error Hello. A few problems. First, when I try to view my pics or videos on the camera screen, I can only see the boxes where they should be, but no pics. Next, I get a screen saying camera temperature is too low, keep camera power on please wait. Sometimes I can navigate around but I get a HDD error statement. My computer doesn't read the hard drive, when I connect the everio. I also get a message saying to reformat the hard drive. Is there anything I can try to avoid reformating? I'd like to save some important memories!! :) Pleeease say yes! THANK YOU for your help! Robin Windels

    same problem - camera temperature is too low error message. Tried your recovery software link but get a message that the link is expired.

    My computer doesn't read the hard drive, when I connect the everio. I also get a message saying to reformat the hard drive. Is there anything I can try to avoid reformating? I'd like to save some important memories!! PLEASE help me!!!

Dude i have the same problem but every time i try to recover it has HDD error and its pissing me off.

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

· Turn off the camera.

· Remove the battery pack.

· Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

· Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

· Reinsert the battery pack.

· Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.


If the issue persists, service may be required.

When connected to computer screen on NV10 states it is connecting to computer, then it states connecting to printer, then the words error appear
I recommend updating the drivers. You can do this for free on manufacture's website. It would be under download or support tab.
The other thing you can try is to update the program you are using to copy and view the pics and/or videos.
Drivers are most important because it allows your computer to sync and communicate with the camera.
Quicktimeplayer is a fantastic player for pics and video and automatically plays your camera's video files.

Go into the menu and scroll to "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Blue screen access error when viewing or taking pics or vids
Please try to take as many pictures from memory stick as you can then format memory stick through format option in setup.
Hope this will resolve this blue access issue.
You can use another memory stick like 1GB in this camera.

Can't help u much, however, I rec'd the "HDD error" msg as well. All I did (out of panic) was turn off computer, pull out battery, put battery back in and then it was fine again for viewing off camera.

No video or picture at all
Open the control panel switch classic view, click scanner and camera ,,click right aim camera in front and you can see your picture then ok.
If cannot see open control panel insert camera usb to computer , click add hardware just follow instruction on screen.
check also device manager

Viewing is fine, taking pictures is not
This sounds like what started happening with my camera a few weeks ago. I found that turning the LCD screen off during picture-taking allows me to take pictures. I then have to go into review mode to look at the pictures I took using the LCD screen. Definitely not a great fix. I'm trying to locate a firmware upgrade that may solve it.
