Cannot get the weed eater to stay running. I have a power pro (made by McColloch). I am able to get it running for a little while and then it floods itself out. If i let it sit overnight it gets a ridiculous amount of fuel in the cylinder. I have rebuilt the carburetor (I did not replace the welch plug), replaced the plug (gapped at.030), replaced the tank and fuel lines and more recently replaced the fuel cap and primer bulb. Help!

SOURCE: carburetor adjustment weed eater fl sst 25,will

My machine didn't run idle either. Took carburator apart of the Sst 25. Cleaned it with gasoline and a brush. But no luck. Figured it must be the nozzle of the idle. There are two more or less hidden black adjustment screws for the nozzles (idle and gas). I used a plastic tube from a ballpoint to take screw out, ran some air through it, reassembled it and now the machine runs smooth again...

Sounds like you need to take the carb. apart and clean it. I like to use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning teeth), to clean the small ports in carb. they work great for this job. Make sure to either clean or replace the small screen in thcarb. as well.

SOURCE: primer bulb won't prime

it sounds like the filter on the fule line is cloged try to remove the filter and then try to prime the trimmer. it it does you need to replace the filter. just about any filter that will fit will do.

SOURCE: My weed eater will not start

Sounds like the carb or gasket around the carb is leaking allowing the pressure to blow by when you press the primer bulb. If its not air tight it will not pop back out. Check your carb and surrounding gaskets and check for a leak.

One of the problem could be is you have one of the line in this case top line in the carburator clog. For clean the carburator You need to remove first the cover for the filter 2 screws on front of the carburator remove lines mark the lines top and bottom remove slowly the carburator be careful with the gasket. The carburator have 4 little screws removed and remove the black gasket (diaphragm) clean with carburator cleaner and air, blow air thru the top line tube, now on the otherside remove the screw and clean the gasket and the carburator inside do the same step. Make sure you clean the fuel filter inside the tank with carburator cleaner.

My Craftsman V20 battery powered weed-eater starts and stops after about 3 seconds. How can I fix this?

  • To fix a weed eater that won't start, check the fuel to ensure that you are using the correct gas-to-oil ratio for the weed eater. Then, you have to change the spark plug. After that, replace the fuel filter. Now, you need to review the starting process of the weed eater.

New poulan pro 25cc chokes out after if I give it full throttle. Runs ok except it wont stay running on full throtle.

I find with my Poulan Pro that you need to let it warm-up abit before applying full throttle, I live in Upstate NY where the weather has bee great lately, however, it stalls easy ..I mix 1-pint of 3 stroke oil to 1-gallon of gas for my weed eater and have no problem

2009 31cc toro weed eater wont stay running. will fire and run at idle but wont stay running in 1,2,3 settings

get a can of starter fluid and a helper. Start the weed eater and then squirt enough starter fluid into the air intake to keep it running while you move it through the settings. This will rid your tool of the crud that is causing your problem. Joe
