My TV powers on then within seconds powers off. The red light on the front panel then flashes 7 times pauses and the repeatedly flashes 7 times. I have taken the cover off. Nothing appears burned or loose. Please help.

This may be a power supply, and or a high voltage, or a scan ampplifier failure. The set would have to be properly trouble shooted by an experienced TV tech to determine the exact failure. This is not something you can fix yourself at home.

Sony tv has self protection program. The red Led blinking light indicate the probable cause location. For this model it is either 2,4 or 5 flashes every 3 second. Please check the blinking again
My Sony trinitron has the stero lite on steady and standby lite flashes four times then pauses and repeats. Can you tell me the circuit/condition causing the set to not turn on.
HI, this is the result of an unstable power sector in this unit. the fly back is malfunctioning and, you will need to replace it asap. i will list the part number below and a link to a site as well. you can purchase this part on-line if you wish.

Forward voltage/current problem....needs a new board....You might try unplugging it for a few hours...If the TV starts you will need to leave it on until it gets repaired or replaced.
The flashing should be a repeated count with a 2 or 3 second pause between the counts. Can you post the count here please. That will indicate the problem circuit and allow me to give you more details on how to resolve the problem.
