Sleep Function??? I have an RCA TV with the sleep function, that can only be accessed by remote. The RCR460 will control everything *except* the sleep function (as it seems to be with most universal remotes). What gives?
In most cases you can set the sleep timer by accessing the menu. Or if it is a learning remote find a button you dont use and teach it the sleep button from your OEM remote.

Usually you check for the sleep button on your remote controller. Press the button and the sleep function comes on. Pressing it again adds about 5 to 10 minutes to your time for the sleep function to come into effect. After the time has gotten to its highest the cycle goes off and satrts again. Hope this solution has been helpful?
found the answer but it doesnt help.......i got the number to who makes RCA remote controls and called them and talked to tech support to see what i could do for this problem. According to them, some universal remotes are compatible with most tvs but sometimes the remote can only give you the basic functions (chan up/down, volume up/down, #'s, mute an so on.) i dont really understand why it wouldnt work for the input channel but i do know i have a lower end and low priced tv. so....just like everything else the more you pay...the better it is. I checked the remote on my other tv in the living room and everything works just fine, even the input button. Hope this helps...
you should be able to hold down the desired function you want to program......(for tv, hold tv) since i dont know what tv brand your trying to get it to work with i can only suggest holding down the tv button after you turn on your tv manually and hit the channel up button until it changes the channel. turn of the tv with the remote and see if it turns it back on. if it works you should be good to go. hope this helps
THe only way to use the sleep function is if your tv has a sleep function. If not then that button won't deep anything for you. Otherwise you should just be able to hit the sleep button.
