What i would do if this was happening to me, i would turn it on by the buttons on the tv and if that still doesn't help it turn on then use the tv remote. I bet you have already tried both and haven't worked. How long have you had the tv for?
The tv power supply board it is shorted and dead. That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shojimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.
I have the exact same problem, it started straight after the last os update. If u try entering the home screen right after turning the tv on it will allow u to enter but the apps won't initialize and the tv will lock up in the home screen as soon as u press any button on the remote apart from the back button. I have no idea what is causing it but if anyone out there has any idea of the cause or even better a solution can u please let us know.
The basic reset, Unplug from power for 30 sec. plug back in. If still not resolved a component board in the TV has failed and the TV will need internal parts serviced or replaced. The power boards on this model are known to have capacitors that fail, If you see no light behind the screen this is most likely the problem but there is know way to tell with out taking the tv apart and testing. Repair cost should be under 200 My be better to buy new with warranty
I Have the same problem, LG 32" , LC2D a couple of work arounds that work are
1) - never unplug the mains plug
2) - i noticed it does this when the clock time is --:-- , i find that switching to digital tv can stop this,
however these are only tempory fixes and the problem re surfices, as i have found out after having no problem for 12 months, i have accidently unplugged the mains, and now the tc keep turning itself off,
