PFS22SIBSS I've had this fridge for two years and the feeezer has been a constant problem. When it was under warranty we had GE service out twice and they changed the board the first time and the second time said it was fine. It has never been able to maintain a temperture low enough to keep ice cream frozen which was the original complaint. Being that we have a second refrig in the garage we have just ignored the problem until now. Unfortunately tonight our feeezer is at 20 degrees and is useless. The icemaker has ice and water. This is the model without thru-door ice and water. Any suggestions would help me keep my wife at bay as she's ready to blow. First thing to check is if the freezer temperature is going down low enough for the ice maker to work - around 10 degrees. The icemaker thermostat will not activate the mechanism (cam motor) unless this requirement is met.
Where are you getting frost at? Is it on the back wall in the freezer? if so - your problem may be a defrost issue and in that case you would need to hire a professional appliance repair technician to service your refrigerator.

Had similar problem, freezer was working fine, but fridge was warm, (68 degrees) It wasnt my damper, the mother board was fried, and so was the inverter board that told the compressor what to do, after having the inverter and two mother boards replaced.......I threw it out, biggest piece of ****, only three years old, and Sears would not stand behind it, even though I used their repairmen. I will never buy another GE product, or enter a Sears store again
If that is what happened after plugging back in still no change in temperature I recommend you call someone you can trust. Trust is about asking too much these days. You refrigerator does not need to run at all until I or someone can find the problem. If someone there would like the challenge and knows how to use a multi-meter let me know. Thanks, Sea Breeze
i've never heard of this, um, try unplugging it for a couple of minutes then plug it back in. not sure if it will do anything but it wont hurt to try it.
Hi, As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...
Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...
