Hp G60-440 will recieve a charge from power

1,get the power supply checked out.
2,get battery checked.

if your power supply is good then your board will have power if not then the board is bad. there is no charging diagram make sure that all power plugs are on board are in

id pitch this useless thing in the trash, what good is it?
what makes you think the battery is good, why? i bet not.!

Here are some steps that can help you resolve the issue.

First, try removing the ac adapater and the battery and press and hold the power button for about 10-15 secs to remove the flea power. Then try to deattached the power cable and the power brick and attach it again properly, plug it to the computer without the battery and try to turn on the computer. If still the same problem try a good known power socket, if your using power strip try to plug it directly to the wall socket. If nothing works, try a good known ac adapter, or try you ac adapter to a good known working computer. If a good known ac adapter didnt work, contact HP as this is a power supply issue on the computer (power supply are mostly attached to motherboard for portables) contact HP to check your warranty and have it serviced. If the good known ac adapter works, contact HP to check the warranty and have the AC adapater replace or simply replace the ac adapter.

I have experienced this problem with several HP laptops. Invariably the solution has been replacing the power supply. It seems the HP power supplies go bad but don't quite die resulting in them still delivering power, just not quite enough.

make sure the outlet is recieving power

unplug the tower from the outlet & then replug it in & see what happens

make sure all cords are plugged in correctly in the back of the tower

then if nothing happens after you push the start button, power supply & cord could be bad

the same thing happened to my daughter's pc & had to replace power supply & shorted out the motherboard

1) Is it the battery, power up using the power supply.

2) When the power supply is plugged in, is there a charge light/led (could by a bad power supply not charging or providing a good connection)

3) Is the CPU over heating? Check the vents underneath are they clogged with dust?

After this, you're getting into internal faulty component issues and need someone to look at it.

Most power supplied in HP machines are not very good. You will need a new one. If you have a differant cord try that first. If it is bad then order one. they can be obtained for under 50.00 US.

How is your power supply? does it seem like you have to wiggle your cord that connects to computer to make it recieve power?...Many laptops power supply become loose over time form moving the cord around..when it does, the battery has a hard time getting electric power to recharge. Also, you my have other problems with your lithium internal battery that powers your cmos.

Check to see if your power supply is loose and go from there. the power supply is the little hole where you connect the cord to the laptop.

It's the motherboard for sure. Did they say whether or not your model was under warranty.
