Need diagram to assemble the eureka airspeed model AS2000A

If you just bought it and it didn't come with instructions, you should return it and purchase from a store that will either assemble it or will give you the full package including instructions. Your local vac shop is a better choice. They sell better quality and will take care of you, unlike big box stores.

Vac motor runs but belt wont turn

its time to check and/or change your belt.
to do this you want to remove the two screws on the top casing and remove the cover.
There are detailed belt change instructions on a sticker under the top casing on how to remove the brush and belt etc.

Make sure you have the right belt, it is the Eureka EXT-U or U belt I believe that the number for the belt is 61220 and they come in packages of 2.

Good luck

We just moved in - the house is about 9 years old. I have a Eureka Mega Boss central vac - looks like model # is CV20220. 12.4 amps, 120 volts. Can't figure out what type of bags I need. Can you...

Well, for this unit you will need any of the following bags,

Eureka genuine Part# 90610
Eureka replacement (Central vac bag)
another genuine bag style called CV-1, and/or CV-2
Kenmore Central vac bags

Most of the bags there are available at your local vacuum shop, and sometimes even Sears. The Kenmore central vac bag is, can and will fit your Eureka Mega Boss. Prices range on these bags anywhere from $12-$20 for packages of 3. Generally you will replace a bag once every 3-4 months.

Good luck,
Mark

I have the yellow altima vac. for a while now I can not get the darn thing to pick up properly. Or should i say keep it up.. The vac does seem to be getting everything picked up but as soon as you turn it...

If it smells hot, then there's a strain on the motor no doubt about it. Check the suction channel behind the sole plate and remove all of the hoses to check for a clog. It could well be that there is a clog inside the machine after the dust channel from the beater bar and before the main hose assembly goes into the bin. Usually a wire brush or just a blunt stick can remove clogs but please be gentle.
Belt replacement on the Altimas occur on top of the hood, look for crosshead screws on the left hand side and then possibly on the other side where the pedal release is. Also there may be two crosshead screws on the front where the top of the beater bar housing is on either side.

Looking for Eureka belt 70646A for a Eureka The Boss upright

I just replaced the belt on my Eureka The Boss Smart Vac (Model 4870D). I purchased a namebrand Eureka R belt from a local vendor. I did my best to follow the instructions printed on the bottom of the machine. I turned on the vacuum cleaner and the belt brush was spinning! I dropped it into vacuuming floor mode and the belt wouldn't spin no matter what level I put it on.

I called the manufacturer (1-800-282-2886) and spoke with a very nice woman on the phone. While I was speaking with her I noticed that a silver screw was lodged within the "brush roll control" yellow selector switch. With some shaking it became dislodged and I was able to put the "brush roll control" into the hard floors setting and turn the "carpet height adjustment" all the way to the right, so that it was facing the word "low." I then followed the instructions for replacing the belt again.. (1) remove base plate (2) remove brush roll (3) place new belt around motor shaft and then around brush roll (4) insert left side of brush roll before right side (5) rotate brush roll to be sure belt is centered (6) replace base plate, making sure to insert under 4 little tabs before securing with screws.

It appears that it is very important that the carpet height and brush control adjustment are set to their highest point possible (hardwood setting) in order to get the brush to roll in a carpet setting.

"R" is the correct belt for the 4870 and should be correct for all other 4800 models.

Thank you for posting your problem to this website. If I hadn't seen that others were having trouble, I would have just given up. I hope this long post helps someone that was in my situation.
