Humming when no input in jack; works fine with rca inserted; worries me that somethings is not right even though works fine with RCA or XLR plugged in, right channel only

I'm thinking you have an open shield ground on the RCA input side. Connecting speaker inputs possibly restores the ground. Try connecting the high level inputs then disconnect the remote end of the cables (floating the grounds).

Then get out an ohmmeter and find that open circuitor or bad solder joint between RCA ground and real ground in the speaker's amplifier. Or.... if speaker ground kills the hum and you want to use RCA Line Level input to the sub, just connect one minus speaker output on your source amp to one minus on the sub's amp.

Personally I would run the RCA outputs to the RCA in on the APS.
If you insist on using XLR from the APS to the board (like through a snake etc) I would higly recommend using XLR to 1/4" adapters. These things have wonderful little transformers in them (yes, wire wound transformers) that do the 1/4" to XLR conversion really nicely so that you can run your signal through the snake or just so that you don't get the hum and distortion that can be associated with unbalanced signal transfer.
You want a HI-Z unbalanced to LO-Z balanced adapter.
Not always easy to find, but if you absolutely cannot locate any, I have a couple in stock.
I suggest you look around though, because mine aren't cheap!

XLR connectors are a two-wire plus ground system. Using a 1/4 inch to XLR adapter may not connect the wires correctly to your sound system input.

The A-T Freeway 200 Series has a 1/4" output jack. This would indicate a line level. A cable to connect the tip of the 1/4" jack to pin 2 of the XLR and the sleeve of the 1/4" jack to pins 1 and 3 of the XLR should work. The XLR should be plugged into a device that accepts line level.

Ideally, you should plug the 1/4" into a 1/4" or RCA jack that is designed for line levels.

just use the main left and right outputs of the behringer to run xlr (3 prong balanced) to 1/4 inch (looks like a big headphone plug) cables into the inputs of the crown amp. the mixer has the xlr outputs and the amp has 1/4 inch inputrs, sop the cables will have to reflect that on both ends. run the outputs of the amp (rca outputs, i believe, you may have to get a rca plug to 1/4 inch jack adapter, and then use a 1/4 inch speaker cable) to the inputs of the speakers, again, the amp has rca outputs and the speakers will likely have 1/4 inputs, so you will have to address that wil an adapter. have each speaker in its own channel.

Radio Shack sells an XLR to 1/4" jack converter. The you'll need a female double RCA to 1/4" plug in series with it

You CANNOT have a stereo set of RCA jacks "wyed" into a single XLR mono input.

The RCA output drivers will "fight" each other. Some things will appear to work, but give poor performance.

You could make a rudimentary passive mixer by putting a series resistor say 1K ohms from each of the RCA's to a common UNBALANCED input of a subwoofer.

The XLR is balanced so that would not really work unless you also have an unbalanced input on the subwoofer.

The right way to do this is to get a cheap two input mixer that has EQ with it and mix your two mains before sending to the subwoofer. You want a little mixer that also has balanced outputs (XLR or TRS) to send to the subwoofer.

UNLESS the subwoofer has EQ in it, you really need to have an EQ in the little mixer so that you don't send high's to the subwoofer... They don't like highs and the sound will suffer.

First, we need to get the terminology correct.

The DJM has "PHONO" (RCA) jacks, not "phone jacks" of which the current usage is normally the 1/4 inch diameter.

You would be going INTO the Berhinger 1/4 inch jacks on the back of the speakers since you are not using the three pin XLR connections that are used for balanced lines which the DJM does NOT have.

So you should have RCA plugs to 1/4 inch plug cables. The inputs on the 1/4 inch will take TRS connections. IT IS possible you may need to use an RCA to TRS cable with the signal on the "ring" rather than the "tip" of the connector.

A test of the speakers is to touch the tip of the RCA plug with the speaker on and you should hear a hum.

PLEASE be aware that these speakers are INTENDED for use as studio monitors by the sound man in the booth and NOT for playing loud at a venue for dancers, etc.

It is usually as simple as getting a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA adapter, like this one:

Once you have the cable, you stick the headphone plug (3.5 mm stereo mini-phono) into the headphone jack on your Zune, then you insert the red and white RCA jacks into an open input on your surround receiver... most have an auxilliary input jack set on the front of the unit. All you need to do at this point is select the "aux input" for the source on the surround receiver, start your Zune, and make sure the volume on the Zune is somewhere in the 50 - 75% range, and you should be good to go.
