Did these caps look bad?

There is a firmware that can be updated via usb from philips. This fw was used to correct the tv powering on with no picture randomly (they called it a maintence session) but it was a problem. The tv would power on on its own and do this..


If that doesnt take care of your problem then the problem is with the main control board. or ssb

This problem is linked to a power supply issue. The SSB is part of the power supply chain and will cause system failure if the board is defective. I have seen to many of these type of modular power supply boards fail. The shutdown circuit is detecting excessive voltage, and in the process of turning off the set it may have blown something else. I am begining to suspect a design flaw, which happens from time to time. I would suggest having a qualified TV repair person take a look at the TV and work on it.

video processing is done on small signal board. If there is no on screen display ssb would the board to replace as micro processor generates the menu

replacing ssb for 4 blink error was correct as error is communication failure specific to micro processor on ssb. getting an alternate error after replacing ssb would suggest either wrong ssb or defective ssb. verify vendor number on ssb tuner on original and new ssb and if same reorder that board and if not order per original board

The SSB is small self contained board that u connect your Antenna, and HDMI to. An error three is a communication error between the SSB and to Logic board ( located underneath the SSB on the back fo the plasma panel that is just below the power supply. U can check parts.com and see if u want to purchase a SSB for this TV. Is the 3blinking lights coming from the front of the TV. Also check the power supply and see how many times the green led blinks on the upper left of the power supply and let me know.

Do u loose picture and audio at the same time and when the led starts to flash on the front of the TV is it a red 5 ? If so there is an oscillating crystal that is getting really hot on the SSB. 27Mhz xtal. if need more specifics ill get the philips replacement part number.and where it is located of the SSB.
