I am continually getting a "Fatal Error 17H" message, causing me to keep rebooting. Sometimes it will make a few prints, sometimes none at all. Any ideas as to what is causing this?
I'm having the exact same problem...I'm looking at other laser printers to buy, but if this can be fixed I would really like to do that. I have a full set of toners that will end up on eBay otherwise I guess. Love this machine, has worked flawlessly for several years now....I'm hoping someone out there has an answer. I'm not a real techy, but I do know which end of a screwdriver to use, ha! Had printer for approximately 2 years. Used daily in office setting. today the printer tried to print, then just stopped and it said fatal error 17H in the window. We cleared paper jam and rebooted, gives the same error message. Anything we can do?

17H is the Rack Rotation error. If your toners are not rotating correctly, or if you have the wrong type (IE 2400 series toners in a 2500 series printer) you will get this error.
open door, remove waste toner box then you have to find a small switch in left side and push it wit screwdriver or something, then you can rotate the toner rack manually. then install the waste toner box again and power up printer.
I had the same problem one time, they told me to pull out all of the toner cartriges, power off, power on, power off, replace all cartridges and the problem went away.
Rack rotation failure, I'm not 100% that this is that error, but does the rack, where the toner are move ? if not, move it with manually a little bit then restart printer.
