Hi,

Get the Wii "COMPONENT" cable set. This set has white-red (sound) connectors plus the red-green-blue (component - video) connectors. You can get this cable where they sell the Wii. It will give you the best possible picture with this device.

Plug the Red-Green-Blue connector in their respective sockets on the NEC display (upeer right-hand side). Switch the NEC display to the DTV/HD input (upper right button on the remote).

Please note that this setup does not provide sound since the display does not have speakers.
Use the white-red connectors and plug them into your amplifier or other sound device.

Good luck.

Hello Fixya team, I need help!

To set up your home theater system with the equipment you mentioned, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the Onkyo receiver to the NEC TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure the HDMI input on the TV is set to the correct input for the Onkyo receiver.
  2. Connect the Panasonic DVD player to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the Firestick Lite to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  4. Connect the Panasonic speakers to the Onkyo receiver using speaker wires. Make sure you connect the speakers to the correct speaker terminals on the receiver, which are usually labeled with the speaker's position (e.g. front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right).
  5. Configure the Onkyo receiver to use the correct input for each device. For example, set the input to "DVD" when you want to watch a movie on the Panasonic DVD player, or set the input to "Firestick" when you want to watch content on the Firestick Lite.
  6. Configure the audio settings on the Onkyo receiver to use the correct audio format for your content. For example, if you are watching a movie with Dolby Digital surround sound, make sure the receiver is set to decode Dolby Digital audio.
  7. Adjust the volume and other audio settings on the Onkyo receiver as needed to optimize the sound quality.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy surround sound audio from your Panasonic speakers through the Onkyo receiver.

Hi, I have bought a Sony Dav s550 Surround Sound System. When I tried to set it up all I got was a picture on the tv but no sound. I checked the fibre optic lead even bought a new one but still no sound...

Check to see if your sky box has an output for fiber optic cable, if it does then go to the box configuration and make sure its enabled. Also is possible to transfer sound through HDMI so if your sky box has an output make sure audio is enabled.
If the box does not have the fiber optic out or HDMI then you will have to go old style with regular red and white audio cables and connect them to your home theater system. If you want audio for both TV and surround system you can use Adaptor Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female Audio AV
and get two of them, one for the reds and one for the whites that will be connected to your sky box, i hope it all makes sense and helps.

Hi i have a krf-v5030d and i am having trouble woking out how to connect it to my panasonic 37'' plasma th37px70b and my sky plus box can you help me please .thanks john

Hi John,

I have the same amplifier, a Sky + HD box, an LCD TV an surround speakers. We wont go into the Wii, PS3 and PC also hooked up. Essentially the best way to go (whatever you connect up) is to split the video and audio signals.

Sky: The Sky box has an audio outputs (left and right channel) found at the back of the box. You get some twin audio cables, plug into the back of the Sky box and the other end into the Kenwood Amp (for example we use Video 1). This means that the sound from Sky can be found on Video 1 on the Amp.

You take the video signal (picture) from Sky using a SCART cable and put into the back of your panasonic TV. This does mean that you can watch a picture without the sound and listen without a picture. The Amp remote controls the sound, the Sky / TV remote controls the picture.

You may need to tinker with some settings on the Amp, for example on the front of the Amp you will find a source button, toggle through the 3 or 4 options to give you the right sound. But essentially that should be it. The same process is used for any other things you want to add, like a DVD player, a games console and so on.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Mohammed

No picture on TV through Sky, Home Cinema is on but have sound.

do have sound and picture at same time you will need a fibre optical cable, you connect that from your cinema system to your tv. then you need to set your cinema system to digital input or fibre optic or check by pressing aux on your remote and see which is the right one. i am not familier with panasonic as i have samasung.

CAN ONLY GET THE SURROUND SOUND TO WORK WITH DVD'S NOT WITH NORMAL TV OR SKY?? WHY??

You should have a AUDIO menu in which you can simulate true surround sound. This should be in your owners manual. Your DVD is recorded in dolby surround sound that's why on your set it will be reproduced as recorded. I hope Samsung is using a ATSC tuner in that model?
